New Delhi, Aug 8(ANI): With just a week to go for the release of the multi-starrer film 'Mission Mangal', zest is at an all- time high among moviegoers. Keeping the enthusiasm alive, the star cast of the film has shared a sneak peek of their characters. Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menon and Sharman Joshi took to Instagram to describe in the brief the roles they essay in the film. The movie, based on the story of India's mission to Mars, is about ordinary people achieving extraordinary goals. Produced by Cape of Good Films, Hope Productions, and Fox Star Studios, the film is scheduled to land in theatres on August 15.
Guwahati (Assam), Aug 08 (ANI): Assamese singer Bhupen Hazarika was honoured with India's highest civilian award Bharat Ratna posthumously on August 08. His son Tej Hazarika received Bharat Ratna on his behalf. Legendary singer's brother expressed his happiness over this honour. The building in Assam's Guwahati named 'Bhupendra Bhavan' houses his numerous belongings. There are several pictures of Hazarika with his colleagues and friends. His selective collection of books has been kept safe here. Bhupen Hazarika is credited for introducing the culture and folk music of Assam and northeast India to Hindi cinema. He has been honoured with many prestigious honours including National Film Award, Padma Shri and Dada Saheb Phalke Award. Hazarika passed away on November 2011.
New Delhi, Aug 08 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the decision to keep Jammu and Kashmir under Centre-rule is a well thought decision. He said, "The decision to keep J-K directly under Central administration for a brief period was a well thought over decision. Since Governor's rule was implemented in J-K, state admin has been directly in touch with Centre due to which the effects of good governance can be seen on ground." PM Modi assured people of Jammu and Kashmir that their political representative will be chosen by them and will be one of them only. He also assured people of Jammu and Kashmir that this new arrangement will free Jammu and Kashmir from terrorism and militancy.
Coimbatore (TN), Aug 08 (ANI): Coimbatore's Noyyal River transformed into frothing disaster. Roads in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore have been covered in froth from Noyyal River. Commuters are finding it difficult to cross the area. The river is surrounded by textile units that reportedly discharge its effluents into the water bodies. Noyyal river rises from the Velliangiri hills in the Western Ghats. The river travels through areas of Coimbatore and Tiruppur and meet the Kaveri.

He said, "We as a nation, as a family, have taken a historic decision. A system due to which brothers and sisters of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh were deprived of many rights and which was a big obstacle to their development, that system has been done away with." PM Modi said that the dream of Sardar Patel, Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee, Atalji and of crores of patriots has been fulfilled. He further added, "With passage of time, certain things seem to be become permanent. Article 370 was something similar."

The roads and dams are in crumbling state and villagers fear for their lives as Government has not initiated any action. The movement of people from one village to another continues through bridges and roads in pathetic condition. The locals are opting for boats due to such condition of roads.

The government on August 05, repealed some provisions of the Article 370 to take away Jammu and Kashmir's special status, and bifurcated state into two union territories, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
Bhubaneswar, Aug 8(ANI): Today in a Press conference held at Bhubaneswar, Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty told that a hardcore gang of 13 dacoits were arrested from Cuttack and Bhubaneswar area. There were 28 cases registered against them in different police stations. Some dacoits and police officials were also injured in open firing by the dacoits. Firstly four and then nine other dacoits were arrested. The gang used stolen cars for robbery. Police have seized 224 grams of gold, 10 vehicles, 5 country made revolvers and 50 thousand cash. Police Commissioner Mohanty congratulated the police officers for leading the task.
Attari (Punjab), Aug 08 (ANI): Samjhauta Express arrived from Pakistan, at Attari railway station. Railway crew and guard from India had gone with a train engine to Pakistan today after receiving a message that Pak's driver and crew had refused to come to India. Pakistan downgraded diplomatic relations with India after Parliament revoked Article 370 taking away special status of Jammu and Kashmir and split it into two union territories. Pak government suspended Samjhauta Express service on August 08.
Patna (Bihar), Aug 08 (ANI): Janata Dal United's Member of Parliament, RCP Singh suggested political parties to move ahead on the matter of Article 370. Comments come after JD (U) opposed resolution to revoke Article 370 in Parliament. "The aim should be country's development and everybody should work on it. When there is a contentious issue, you put your point of view but once it becomes a law, one should accept it and move ahead from there," said Rajya Sabha MP RCP Singh. On August 05, the government passed a resolution in both houses to remove provisions of Article 370, which provides special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
New Delhi, Aug 08 (ANI): Former President Pranab Mukherjee was honoured with India's highest civilian award, 'Bharat Ratna' from President Ram Nath Kovind on August 08. Son of Bhupen Hazarika, Tej Hazarika received Bharat Ratna on his behalf. Legendary Assamese singer Bhupen Hazarika was conferred Bharat Ratna posthumously. Former President Pranab Mukherjee later greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu. Senior RSS leader and social activist Nanaji Deshmukh was also conferred with Bharat Ratna posthumously. Chairman of Deendayal Research Institute, Virendrajeet Singh received the honour on his behalf. The announcement for 'Bharat Ratna' was made on January 25 in a statement issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Shillong (Meghalaya), Aug 08 (ANI): Minister of State (MoS) PMO Jitendra Singh disapproved Congress Leader Ghulam Nabi Azad's remark on National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, terming it 'disturbing'. Singh said, "He is seasoned leader, because to say something like this would amount to questioning integrity of Kashmiris. Let's not forget resolution to abrogate Article 370 was passed by both Houses." Ghulam Nabi Azad stirred controversy after commenting on NSA Ajit Doval's interaction with locals of Jammu and Kashmir. GN Azad said, "You can pay anyone to get these things done".
Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Aug 08 (ANI): Reacting on Center's move on Article 370, Chhattisgarh's Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said "asking question is crime now, so I don't want to say anything." "The way it was implemented, had they taken everyone into confidence, it would have been different. Now the people for whom it was implemented are not aware of it." Uri/ Tangdhar/ Naugam (J-K), Aug 08 (ANI): Normalcy is returning in parts of Jammu and Kashmir after abrogation of Article 370 was passed in Parliament. People were seen going about their lives on Thursday morning. Shops opened and people could be seen roaming on streets. Section 144 was imposed in state on late Sunday evening brining movement of locals to standstill.
New Delhi, Aug 08 (ANI): After deciding to downgrade diplomatic relations with India in the wake of Indian government's move to strip Jammu and Kashmir of its special status and to make it a Union Territory, Pakistan decided to suspend the operations of the Samjhauta Express on August 8. Deepak Kumar, CPRO, Northern Railways said, "Samjhauta Express plies between Lahore and Attari which is still continuing. Pakistan authorities had raised issues regarding security of the train's crew and guard. We have told them that situation this side is perfectly normal. The train is standing in the Wagah side which has around 110 passengers and our engine has also left from Attari. We'll bring the train from Wagah to Attari. 70 passengers are waiting here who will travel to Pak. So to say that the train has been cancelled is not right."
Bhopal (MP), Aug 08 (ANI): Teachers of Government Higher Secondary School Bawadiya Kalan in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal adopted unique teaching methods to encourage students to come to school. Students are being taught with the help of dance moves. Props, acting, singing are being adopted by the teachers to motivate children. Students are also provided with meals in the school. The new methods have generated student's interest towards the education.

"Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), and Aksai Chin are part of Jammu and Kashmir," said Ravinder Raina. He also took a dig at Pakistan and said they always betrayed and back stabbed India. Onboard/ Kolhapur (Maharashtra), Aug 08 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reviewed flood situation in state on August 08, 2019. Flood has affected several areas of the state throwing normal life out of gear. Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara and surrounding areas have received very heavy rains in the last few days leading to a flood-like situation. NDRF teams and Army, Navy and Air Force have been deployed in state. Relief operations are going on a large scale.
Attari (Punjab), Aug 08 (ANI): Train engine for Samjhauta Express left from Attari railway station, for Pakistan. Station Master said, "Pak's driver and guard refused to come to India. So they sent us message to send engine with Indian crew and guard. They'll go with engine and bring the train." After deciding to downgrade diplomatic relations with India in the wake of Indian government's move to strip Jammu and Kashmir of its special status and to make it a Union Territory, Pakistan decided to suspend the operations of the Samjhauta Express on August 8. Pakistan also asked India to withdraw its High Commissioner to Pakistan and also decided not to send its High Commissioner designated to New Delhi. Pakistan Railways Minister, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed also informed that in a decision by the Railways Ministry, Samjhauta Express services have been permanently stopped. It used to ply twice a week. New Delhi, Aug 08 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on August 8 said his government has passed the proposal to install 11,000 hotspots across public spaces in the state under which every user will get 15 GB of free data per month. A poll promise of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, the 4,000 of the 11,000 hotspots will be installed at every bus stand, while the remaining hotspots will be installed in every assembly constituency. Each constituency will have 100 hotspots, Kejriwal informed. Kejriwal added that the government project of providing free Wi-Fi to its citizens was one of a kind.
