Study reveals breastfeeding may lead to fewer human viruses in infants

New Delhi, Apr 17 (ANI): Researchers examined hundreds of babies in a study and discovered that even small amounts of breastmilk strongly influences the accumulation of viral populations in the infant's gut and provides a protective effect against potentially pathogenic viruses. The findings of the study from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania are published in the journal Nature. The findings expand upon prior research that suggests that breastfeeding plays a key role in the interaction between babies and the microbial environment.

New Delhi, Apr 16 (ANI): Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal informed that Central Government has given the permission for trial of 'plasma technology' for testing of serious patients of coronavirus. Kejriwal said, "Some countries have used plasma technology for testing of coronavirus and it gave good results. If plasma technology is used for coronavirus serious patients, it has been observed that their chances of survival increase. We sought permission for its trial from Central Government and they have permitted us for the trial. And, in next 3-4 days, our doctors will try this technology. If we get success in the trial, we'll be able to save serious patients more."

COVID-19: 'Pool testing' begins in Uttar Pradesh, says State Health Secy

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 15: During a press conference held in Lucknow on April 16, Uttar Pradesh's Principal Health Secretary, Amit Mohan Prasad, informed that the 'pool testing' is started in the state. Prasad said, "COVID-19 cases rise to 773 in Uttar Pradesh. These cases have been reported from 48 districts. Out of these 773, 69 people have been cured and discharged. 13 people have been died due to coronavirus in the state as of now. We have started 'pool testing' in the state. Yesterday, the testing was done by making 30 pools of 5-5 of 150 samples. The testing was a successful one. We brought all those samples from the buffer zone. All these 30 pools were tested negative. We will expand pool testing more in other districts as well."
