India recorded 601 coronavirus cases in last 24 hours, total at 2902: Health Ministry

New Delhi, Apr 04 (ANI): Health Ministry informed that there are 2,902 COVID-19 positive cases in India in which 183 people have been recovered so far on April 04. "Till now there are 2,902 COVID-19 positive cases in India. 601 positive cases have been reported since yesterday, 12 deaths also reported yesterday taking total deaths to 68. 183 people have recovered/discharged," said Health Ministry.

Sourav Ganguly distributes food packets to needy people in Kolkata

Arvind Kejriwal enlightens parents on how to address kids' corona-related questions

He said that children do know that there is lockdown but they don't know why it is in place, adding that children have slight knowledge about other diseases but coronavirus is new for them, and therefore parents should explain them how does this virus spreads.

Maharashtra Home Minister, PPE Kit, Mumbai Police personnel, Coronavirus, Coronavirus lockdown, COVID-19

Mumbai, Apr 04 (ANI): In wake of coronavirus outbreak, Home Minister of Maharashtra Anil Deshmukh distributed personal protective equipment (PPE), masks and sanitizers to Mumbai Police personnel. The step has been taken to ensure safety of police personnel. Anil Deshmukh also reviewed meeting on current situation of COVID-19 with other police officials. Anil Deskhmukh said, "We want our Police officials to remain safe while they are on duty amid coronavirus lockdown". Maharashtra has reported 423 cases of coronavirus, which the highest in any Indian state.

16 tests corona positive in Haryana's Palwal, all attended Delhi Markaz: CMO

Palwal (Haryana), Apr 04 (ANI): 16 people (out of 56) have tested positive for Coronavirus in Haryana's Palwal district on April 04. "All these people have attended the Nizamuddin Markaz," said Chief Medical Officer Dr Brahm Deep Singh. Over 2,500 people from all over India and some from abroad had attended the Tablighi Jamaat congregation at Nizamuddin area in Delhi last month. Over 600 of them have tested positive for coronavirus.

4 found positive for coronavirus in UP's Hathras linked to Nizamuddin Markaz

Hathras (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 04 (ANI): 4 people found positive for coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras. According to police officials, they have attended congregation in Delhi's Nizamuddin Markaz. Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Hathras said, "There were 12 people out of whom four people found positive for coronavirus, they have now referred to 'COVID ONE' hospital." Over 2,500 people from all over India and some from abroad had attended a Tablighi Jamaat congregation at Nizamuddin area in Delhi earlier last month. At least 6 of them have died and over 100 of them have tested positive for coronavirus.

Kulgam encounter: 4 Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists neutralised

Kulgam (Jammu and Kashmir), Apr 04 (ANI): Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir neutralised three Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists in an encounter on April 04. According to Jammu and Kashmir Police, a group of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists was killing civilians over the last 12 days. 4 civilians were killed by them in South Kashmir. In the wake of these killings, an operation was launched in Kulgam by security forces and all of them have been neutralized. The encounter was broke out between the security forces and terrorists in JandK's Kulgam district.

2 coronavirus patients die in MP's Indore

Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Apr 04 (ANI): Two people have died due to coronavirus in MP's Indore. CMHO of Indore, Dr Praveen Jadia informed, "Two people are reportedly died of coronavirus. One is an 80-year-old woman while the other is a 42-year-old man. A total of 7 people, including these two, have died in Indore due to novel coronavirus as of now and 115 positive cases are reported."

COVID-19 outbreak: Harsh Vardhan reviews preparedness at LNJP Hospital

New Delhi, Apr 04 (ANI): Union Health and Family Affair Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan visited Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital in Delhi on April 04. He interacted with the officials at the hospital over current situation of COVID-19. Harsh Vardhan reviewed preparedness and took stock of the situation at the hospital and also inspected COVID-19 dedicated facility at here. Harsh Vardhan told, "I have visited Lok Nayak Hospital today. There are 1500 beds here at this hospital for coronavirus patients. There are 290 COVID-19 positive or suspected cases admitted here." A total of 2650 active cases of coronavirus have been reported in India as of now

Srinagar administration opts for boom spray to sanitize city amid COVID-19 outbreak

Delhi Health Minister requests for 50,000 PPE kits from Centre on urgent basis

New Delhi, Apr 04 (ANI): Delhi has left with only 7000-8000 Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) which will last for only 2-3 days. However, the Health Minister of Delhi, Satyendra Jain demanded 50,000 PPE kits on urgent basis from central government. While talking on the coronavirus status report in the state, the Health Minister said, "Till now, there are 386 coronavirus positive patients including 259 from Markaz Nizamuddin."

6 Tablighi Jamaat attendees test positive for coronavirus in UP's Maharajganj

Maharajganj (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 04 (ANI): Six people tested positive for novel coronavirus in UP's Maharajganj and they all had attended Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi's Nizamuddin. Giving out more information, District Magistrate of Maharajganj, Ujjwal Kumar said, "Two-three days back, we got the information of 21 people who attended Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi's Nizamuddin. We quarantined all of them and had sent their samples to Gorakhpur. We got the reports of 17 people, out of which 6 are positive. We are also testing their close contacts. 35 close contacts of the 6 positive cases have also been quarantined. The four villages that they belong to are being sanitised and movement of people in these villages have been completely restricted to contain the spread of coronavirus"

Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Apr 04 (ANI): The vegetable business is facing huge crisis amid the nationwide lockdown in the wake of coronavirus pandemic. In Uttarakhand's Dehradun, vegetables are going for waste as people are not coming to market. One of the vegetable vendor said, "I have faced loss of almost 50 lakh, as there is no buyer in the market." The state reported total 16 cases of coronavirus so far. However, nationwide 2,650 cases are active of COVID19. The nation is under lockdown from March 24.

J-K is 2nd largest state in aggressive testing of coronavirus: Rohit Kansal

While talking to ANI, the Principal Secretary of state, Rohit Kansal said, "We are working on 3 steps strategy, firstly we are aggressive tracing the people who has been contacted to coronavirus patient and isolated several areas, secondly we are working on aggressive testing, we have tested more than 1200 people so far and in third step we are focusing on communication and awareness." These French nationals boarded Air India flight to reach Mumbai and then it will leave for Paris. These French nationals were completely screened at the health desk of the airport.
