New Delhi, Feb 11 (ANI): Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia is confident of party's victory. Speaking to ANI, he said people of Delhi must have voted for AAP as the party worked hard for 5 years. "We are confident of a win today because we have worked for people in the last 5 years," said Manish Sisodia. Deputy CM Manish Sisodia's family offered prayers at their residence. The counting of votes for all the 70 assembly seats in Delhi is underway. Polling for Delhi Assembly seats was held on February 08.

Bijapur encounter: Wreath laying ceremony of CoBRA jawans held in Raipur

Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Feb 11 (ANI): The wreath laying ceremony of two CRPF's CoBRA jawans was held in Chhattisgarh's Raipur on February 11. Jawans Vikas Kumar and Purnanand Sahu lost their lives in an exchange of fire with Naxals at Irapalli village of Bijapur district on February 10. Six other jawans were also injured in the encounter. One Naxal was killed in the encounter that took place in the Pamed Police Station limits. The commandos were from the 204 Battalion of the Commando Battalions for Resolute Action (CoBRA).

UP Police arrests man for allegedly raping 3-year-old in Sitapur

Sitapur (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 11 (ANI): A 3-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered in Maholi town of UP's Sitapur on February 10. Mahendra Pratap Singh, DSP said, "The girl went missing in the evening and her body was recovered in a sack from the house of a neighbour named Raju. The case has been registered and the accused has been arrested." The body of child has been sent for postmortem.

Yuva Sena's leader Honey Mahajan shot, airlifted to Amritsar hospital

Amritsar (Punjab), Feb 11 (ANI): Shiv Sena's student wing - Yuva Sena's North India chief Honey Mahajan admitted to a hospital in Amritsar. He was airlifted from Gurdaspur after being shot at in Dhariwal. According to police official, "We appeal everyone to stay calm. Honey Mahajan is under treatment and is stable." An acquaintance of Mahajan, accompanying him, died on spot.

Chennai's Anna University set to increase fee

Chennai, Feb 11 (ANI): All India Council for Technical Education has requested state governments to increase fees in engineering and technical courses. The fees in Chennai's Anna University is set to be hiked. Former VC Dr Adinarayana Kalanidhi said, "There are mistakes in many fronts who are deciding about technical education. One is that AICTE which is supposed to maintain standard other is University which is supposed to inspect and decide whether inside the same things are available as they have indicated earlier. Next things is to see whether they are running the colleges as they have collected the fees. The last thing is whether the colleges have requisite qualified faculty."

New Delhi, Feb 10 (ANI): Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thawarchand Gehlot reacted over Supreme Court's decision that reservation in government jobs and promotions are not fundamental right in Lok Sabha. "The case has arisen due to Uttarakhand government's 2012 decision to not implement reservation in promotions in the state. In 2012, Congress was in power in Uttarakhand," the minister said. The minister further said, "Government is holding high level discussions on the issue. I would like to make it clear that the government was never made a party in the case." However, after his statement, Congress MPs walked out from the Lok Sabha.

Mumbai family helps 5 patients by donating organs of son who died in road accident

Mumbai, Feb 10 (ANI): In a first, family of 25-year-old Mahesh in Mumbai helped live five patients by donating organs of their son who died in a road accident. The organs include kidneys, heart, livers which have been donated to different hospitals. Mahesh was brought in a critical condition to the JJ Hospital after getting seriously injured in a road accident, and was later declared brain dead on Feb 07. Soon the JJ Hospital convinced family of Mahesh to donate his organs to help the needy.
