Peace march carried out in Ludhiana to mark Mahatma Gandhi's 150th anniversary

Ludhiana (Punjab), Oct 02 (ANI): A massive peace march had been carried out in Punjab's Ludhiana on October 2 to mark the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Students from different schools participated in the peace march. During the march, Swachh Bharat Mission and ban on single-use plastic were also promoted. October 2, birthday of Mahatma Gandhi is observed as Peace and Non-violence day by UN.

To mark the day, Border Security Force (BSF) Dog Squad participated in Swachh Bharat Mission in Jammu. The K-9 team along with their handlers roamed around the Jammu city and picked litter and put it into the dustbin. October 2, birthday of Mahatma Gandhi is observed as Peace and Non-violence day by UN.

Search Operation underway in Udhampur's Kud area after suspicious activity reported

Students forced to study in kutcha room in Udhampur

Udhampur (JandK), : Students of a primary school in Udhampur's Pund village are forced to study in a kutcha room as the school building is damaged. The building is damaged for past 9 years but administration didn't take any action even after continuous request by the school teachers. We remember him because he adopted the route of non-violence, goodwill and love and took our country to freedom. However, today through social media, the way Mahatma Gandhi is being defamed and Nathuram Godse is being glorified, this is very shameful," he told reporters. Born on October 2, 1869, in Porbandar town of Gujarat, Mahatma Gandhi adopted a non-violent resistance and was the forefront of the freedom struggle against the colonial British rule with utmost patience.

New Delhi, Oct 02 (ANI): On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary, a massive cleanliness drive was conducted in Delhi's Wazirabad area on October 02. 'Swachhata Abhiyaan' took place at Ramghat in Wazirabad under the 'Namami Gange Project'. 'Swachhata Hi Seva' movement for cleanliness was organised from September 11 to October 2. This year the campaign focused on plastic waste management, given the detrimental effect of uncollected plastic waste on human beings, animals and the environment at large. From October 3 to October 27, the collected plastic waste will then be effectively recycled and disposed. While speaking to ANI, Director General of the National Mission for Clean Ganga Rajiv Ranjan Mishra said, "Today is the last day of our 'Swachhta Hi Seva' campaign. We are cleaning around seven 'ghats' in the national capital under this programme." "Several college students are participating in this cleanliness drive along with us," he added.
