Bengaluru, Aug 23 (ANI): Former chief minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah on Friday said that former prime minister HD Devegowda is responsible for BJP to come in power again in Karnataka. He also said that HD Kumaraswamy and Gowda were responsible for the defeat of Congress in Karnataka. Earlier, devegowda had held Siddaramaiah responsible for the collapse of the Congress- Janata Dal (Secular) coalition government in the state.
Patna (Bihar), Aug 23 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav spoke to media persons on former finance minister P Chidambaram's involvement in INX Media scam. Yadav said, "For a long time we have been saying that CBI and ED are working like BJP's party cell. Opposition leaders are being targeted. This is all political vendetta and they are targeting all the Opposition leaders. We trust our judiciary and I am sure justice will be done. It is really sad to see how BJP started negative politics."

New Delhi, Aug 23 (ANI): BJP-Akali Dal MLAs staged protest outside Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal's office on August 23. They sat on 'dharna' outside the office. These MLAs wanted introduce congratulatory resolution on revocation of Article 370 but were not allowed. While speaking to ANI, one of the Opposition leaders said, "We wanted to introduce congratulatory resolution on revocation of Article 370, we weren't allowed to do so. I have been suspended for entire session and MS Sirsa was marshalled out."
New Delhi, Aug 23 (ANI): While addressing the press conference in Delhi on current global economic situation, Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman said, "Just to give you briefly a picture of what is happening globally. The current projected global GDP growth is of about 3.2 % and probably is going to be even revised downwards." Over the last few weeks, the Finance Minister had chaired a series of meeting with the industry leaders, bank representatives, ministry officials and PSU chiefs to understand the issues affecting the economy.

Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Sunil Kumar Jakhar also paid tribute to him. Indira Gandhi-led Congress party nominated Balram Jakhar, a debutante Lok Sabha MP, the Speaker in 1980. Jakhar remained the Speaker for two terms-from 1980 to 1984 and again from 1984 to 1989. He was a two-term Punjab Assembly member before he was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1980.
