Luxembourg, Jun 20 (ANI): Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj attended an Indian Cultural event organised in her honour in Luxembourg on Wednesday. At the event, EAM Swaraj said, "As we look back on the 70 years of our friendship, it has been an all-weather friendship that is based on mutual trust. Luxembourg has been consistently supporting of India at the United Nations including India's permanent member ship of its security council." She further added, "By opposing the embargo against India following our peaceful nuclear test of 1998, Luxembourg demonstrated the trust it has in India as a responsible nuclear power." EAM Swaraj is on a 7-day-long tour to European nations. She started her European visit with Italy. She will meet top leaders of European Union during her visit and hold discussions on wide range of global, regional and bilateral issues.
Gilgit Baltistan (PoK), Jun 19: The derogatory remarks made by Chief Secretary of Gilgit Baltistan, have sparked a fresh row of protests and people have taken to the streets of various parts of the region. The Falahi Committee of Ghanche called for strike and protest in Khaplu, Skardu and other parts of Gilgit Baltistan, seeking his immediate ouster from the post. Meanwhile, In PoK, people, who have been reeling under an oppressive Islamabad rule over seven decades, took to the streets of Muzaffarabad city demanding to abolish the Azad Kashmir Kashmir Council headed by the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
Athens (Greece), Jun 19 (ANI): Emphasising on the need for clean energy and climate change, President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday said India and the European Union (EU) are united in their commitment to the 2015 Paris Agreement. While addressing a gathering of diplomats, policy makers and academics in Athens on the subject "India and Europe in a Changing World", President Kovind said India was scaling up the share of non-fossil fuels in its energy mix, which will go up from the current 31 per cent to 53 per cent by 2027.

A large number of people attended the yoga camp organized by the Consulate General of India in Nepal's Birgunj town on the eve of 4th International Yoga Day.Indian Yoga Guru P P Krishnan participated in the event and taught various yoga postures to the audience. Muktinath (Nepal), June 18 (ANI): Taking Yoga practice to new heights, monks and locals in Nepal celebrated fourth International Day of Yoga at famous Muktinath Temple, 12500 feet above the sea level. The Yoga camp was organised by the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu. In May, during the second day of his visit to Nepal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered prayers at the iconic Muktinath temple which is regarded sacred by both Hindus and Buddhists. The United Nations General Assembly had unanimously declared 21st June as International Day for Yoga in 2015. Since then Yoga Day is celebrated on June 21 every year across the globe. A number of programmes are being organised in Nepal to mark the occasion.

New Delhi, Jun 16 (ANI): The United States President Donald Trump on Friday said that he wants "his people" to listen to him, like people of North Korea listens to their leader Kim Jong Un. The comments from the US President came after he met Kim Jong-un on June 12, for a summit at Singapore, in which they signed an agreement for a stable and peaceful Korean regime. During an interview, Trump said "He's the head of a country. And I mean, he is the strong head." "He's the head of a country. And I mean, he is the strong head," he added. "Don't let anyone think anything different. He speaks and his people sit up at attention. I want my people to do the same," he added. However, the interviewer did not asked a straight follow-up question to clarify. The US President was later questioned about the phrasings, to which he said, "I was kidding."
Gilgit-Baltistan (PoK), Jun 15 (ANI): Protest erupted in Gilgit-Baltistan after a video showing Chief Secretary Babar Hayat Tarar scolding a local activist went viral on social media. The Chief Secretary was confronted by representatives of the Falahi Committee of Ghanche, a local welfare organisation, over poor health facilities in the area. In the video, the Chief Secretary is seen scolding Khadim Hussain, an activist, for calling the region a disputed territory. He also said that the people of Gilgit-Baltistan were lax in paying their taxes.

New Delhi, Jun 14 (ANI): At least 13 people were died on Wednesday when a passenger boat, packed with holidaymakers, heading to home to celebrate the end of Ramadan, capsized off the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. Nearly 22 passengers were rescued and admitted to hospital for treatment. Many people are said to be still missing. The boat reportedly hit a large wave amid bad weather and capsized. Search operations for the missing people are underway.

New Delhi, Jun 13 (ANI): Paris hostage came to an end with the police arresting the armed man and freeing those held. At least two hostages were held after which the police launched an evacuation operation to help bring them out of the building. The police described the accused as an "unstable person" and confirmed that he did not seem to have any connection with any terrorist outfit. Further, the motive of the accused has also not been disclosed yet.
