Balochs-in-exile take to streets in Europe against Pakistani occupation

Berlin (Germany), Mar 31 (ANI): A large number of Baloch activists living in exile in different parts of Europe took to the streets of Berlin, earlier this week demonstrating against Pakistan's illegal occupation of Balochistan for seven decades. They carried "Black Day" floats with them as it was on the same day according to them when Pakistan had annexed their territory. They raised anti- Pakistan slogans all along their march. They also accused Pakistan of carrying out genocide. Even after seven decades of its forceful occupation, Pakistan has failed to provide even basic facilities such as primary education, healthcare, and potable water to the people of the resource-rich province of Balochistan. The China- Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which is constantly touted as an economic game changer by Islamabad administration has only added to the woes of the people of the region. Locals accuse the dreadful Pakistan-China coalition, of exercising extreme high handedness in order to

Uber settles self-driving car crash case with victim's family

Tempe/Phoenix (Arizona), Mar 30 (ANI): Uber has reached a settlement with the family of the woman killed by a self-driving Uber car in Arizona. Uber has settled with the family of the woman hit and killed by a self-driving Uber car in Arizona, ending a potential legal battle over the first death caused by an autonomous car. Dashcam footage of the collision shows Herzberg, a homeless woman, walking her bike across a dark road in Tempe, Arizona and shows how the car doesn't appear to brake even as the woman comes into view. Other footage shows the human driver behind the wheel looking down seconds before the incident. The death raises questions about the safety of autonomous vehicles on public roads, while its fallout could derail the testing of self-driving cars, which are designed to eventually perform better than human drivers and reduce road deaths. In the wake of the incident, Uber suspended testing of its self-driving car fleet across all North America.

Docs reveal links between Trump aide and Russian intelligence

New Delhi, Mar 29 (ANI): A former Russian intelligence officer who worked with President Donald Trump's former campaign officials Paul Manafort and Rick Gates communicated with Gates during the 2016 campaign. That bombshell emerged in court records filed late Tuesday by Special counsel Robert Mueller's office. The link is significant because the current charges against Gates and Manafort relate only work in Ukraine, years before they worked for Trump, and not their activities during the 2016 campaign. The records concern the case of Alex Van Der Zwaan, a Dutch lawyer is about to become the first person to be sentenced in Mueller's Russia investigation. However, Trump has repeatedly denied any collusion took place.

Pope Francis tells Mafia they can't be Christians

Vatican City/ Paliano (Italy), Mar 29 (ANI): Pope Francis on Wednesday told members of the Mafia in Italy, where many go to church and worship openly, that they cannot call themselves Christians because they "carry death in their souls." Julian Satterthwaite reports. It's the pontiff's strongest attack on organised crime in nearly four years. Particularly in the smaller towns and cities of the south, they take part in Catholic sacraments, attend services, and in some cases have made churchmen complicit in their crimes. Pope Francis is not the first to take on the mafia. In 1993 Pope John Paul warned Sicily's Cosa Nostra that they would one day face the justice of God. The group responded with bomb attacks against several churches in Rome.

Wild Monk parakeets nest in peace at New York cemetery

New York (USA), Mar 27 (ANI): A colony of wild Monk parakeets thrives at a cemetery in New York. These birds of a feather flock to find food under odd weather conditions in their chosen home. It's late March, and the blanket of snow is as unusual for New York as their story, which starts in a foreign country. This is Green-Wood cemetery in Brooklyn, almost 500-acres of private burial ground where a colony of Monk parakeets rule the land. For decades the birds have greeted and comforted mourners who came through the cemetery's main gate, the location of their communal nest. While hundreds of wild parrots call New York home, this colony is believed to be among the most successful, counting about 75 birds.

Stormy Daniels sues Trump's lawyer for defamation

New Delhi, Mar 27 (ANI): Adult star Stormy Daniels on Monday accused the United States President Donald Trump's attorney, Michael Cohen for defamation, amending her lawsuit against the US President. The suit specifically points to a statement Cohen made last month, "Just because something isn't true doesn't mean that it can't cause you harm or damage," he said. This comes hours after Cohen sent a cease and desist letter to Daniels over her claims of being threatened by a man, purportedly sent by Cohen and having an alleged sexual encounter with the US President.
