European Union ready to fight back to US tariffs

New Delhi, Mar 08 (ANI): The European Union said it is ready to fight back U.S. President Donal Trump's tarrifs. European trade commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom said the EU will have to take measures to protect European jobs and workers if the U.S. slaps tariffs on steel and aluminum. The EU says its list includes iconic American products like bourbon, jeans and Harley Davidson motorcycles. Earlier, International Monetary Fund head Christine Lagarde said Canada and Europe are both likely to impose retaliatory tariffs on American products. The comments come the day after President Donald Trump said trade wars aren't so bad.

Baloch Republican Party holds anti-Pakistan protest in Geneva

Geneva (Switzerland), Mar 08 (ANI): The Baloch Republican Party (BRP) in Switzerland organised a protest rally against state sponsored atrocities in Balochistan during the ongoing 37th session of UN Human Rights Council in Geneva. The protesters carried out a march from Rive to United Nations office and shouted pro-freedom slogans. They also demanded Pakistan to stop abducting innocent civilians from Balochistan. BRP also held an awareness camp outside UN at Broken Chair and made the people aware about growing human rights violations in Balochistan. The campaign aims to highlight the ongoing Event Pakistani war crimes and massive violations of human rights by Pakistani forces in Balochistan.

Adult star Stormy Daniels sues Trump over non-disclosure agreement

New Delhi, Mar 07 (ANI): Adult star Stormy Daniels has filed a civil lawsuit against United States President Donald Trump, seeking to invalidate a non-disclosure agreement the former had signed before the US presidential elections in 2016. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles by Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, alleged that Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen tried "to silence Clifford through the use of an improper and procedurally defective arbitration proceeding hidden from public view" last week. In her filing on Tuesday, Daniels said that she started her "intimate relationship" with Trump at Lake Tahoe in 2006 and continued it in 2007 as well.

Donald Trump falls over 200 places in Forbes billionaires list

New Delhi, Mar 07 (ANI): U.S. President Donald Trump has tumbled down more than 200 places in the world's billionaire rankings after losing around $400 million in his net worth from last year. The business tycoon, with $3.1 billion is now ranked 766th this year, down from a 544th ranking last year. Forbes, the American magazine which compiles a list of the world's richest people annually, attributed his decline to "a tough New York real estate market, particularly for retail locations; a costly lawsuit and an expensive presidential campaign." Trump also lost out around a billion dollars in net worth in 2017.

Glaciers melting in Gilgit Baltistan due to CPEC project

Islamabad/Gilgit, Mar 06: Thirty-six glacial lakes in various valleys of Gilgit-Baltistan have been declared dangerous. At least seven of them pose a major threat to the people, said a survey by Focus Pakistan, an NGO. After conducting the survey, experts attending a seminar in Islamabad said Gilgit-Baltistan is highly vulnerable to climate change. The surge of the Khurdopin Glacier in Shimshal Valley, Hunza, and the formation of a lake, has emerged as a major cause of concern for geologists and local residents.

Sri Lanka riot: Protest outside police station demanding release of detained Buddhists

Kandy (Sri Lanka), Mar 06 (ANI): Members of the Buddhist community held a protest outside a police station in Sri Lanka's Kandy and demanded release of Buddhists, who were arrested in connection to riot on Tuesday. However, the Sri Lankan Government has decided to impose a state of emergency for 10 days to control law and order, following the violence against the minority community in Kandy district over last two days. Thousands march for slain Slovak journalist who probed corruption

Bratislava (Slovakia), Mar 03 (ANI): Thousands marched in Bratislava and other Slovak cities on March 2 for slain investigative journalist Jan Kuciak. The marchers demanded swift action in response to the killing. The murder has shocked the country and shaken its government. A banner read "An attack on journalists = an attack on all of us" and had pictures of the two victims. Most protesters walked in silence and many carried candles. Kuciak reported on tax and subsidy fraud and links between businessmen and local politicians. He had been looking into suspected mafia links among Italian businessmen in eastern Slovakia. US retailer Dick's Sporting Goods curbs gun sales
