Good news! NZ PM Jacinda Ardern pregnant with first child

Auckland (New Zealand), Jan 19 (ANI): New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, on Friday, announced that she is pregnant with her first child, and plans to take a short break after the birth in June. Ardern said she learnt that she was expecting just days before she took office. Ardern plans to take a six-week break, during which time Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters will step in. Her pregnancy is one of the very few examples of an elected leader holding office while pregnant. Ardern was only sworn into office in October after a closely-fought election. She's New Zealand's youngest prime minister in more than half a century and has become hugely popular in her rise to power.

London, Jan 19: Sikhs across the United Kingdom have denounced the decision of Islamabad-backed radical elements' decision of banning Indian diplomats' entry in Gurudwaras. A handful of secessionists, at the behest of Islamabad, have been persistently spewing venom against India and been promoting secessionism from different platforms. However, to their disappointment there are no takers of this ideology and this Pakistan-backed propaganda has been quashed and rejected by every single Sikh.

"Hafiz Saeed should be prosecuted", says US State Department spokesperson

Washington, Jan 19 (ANI): US State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert said United States have made points and concerns to the Pakistani Government regarding Hafiz Saeed, that he should be prosecuted. "We regard him as a terrorist, he was the mastermind of 2008 Mumbai Attacks", said Nauert. Saeed was released from house arrest recently after a Pakistani court cited lack of evidence against him in the 26/11 Mumbai attack case. India has, time and again, protested against Pakistan for harbouring Saeed, who is wanted for plotting the Mumbai attacks.

British PM welcomes French President Macron at UK-France summit

Sandhurst (England), Jan 19 (ANI): British Prime Minister Theresa May welcomed the French President Emmanuel Macron to the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst ahead of the UK-France summit on Thursday. The British Prime Minister is expected to offer France 44.5 million pounds to bolster security at French border controls, part of measures to deepen cooperation that she hopes will foster goodwill in Brexit talks. U.K. and France will also sign a new immigration treaty that will complement but not replace the 2003 Le Touquet border agreement, which has drawn criticism in France after the town of Calais became a hub for migrants and refugees on their way to Britain.

Watch: Pope Francis comes to aid of policeman after horse mishap

Iquique (Chile), Jan 19 (ANI): Pope Francis ordered his convoy to stop and went to the aid of a police officer who was thrown off his horse as the popemobile passed in Chile's Iquique. The incident took place during the papal parade. The papal convoy was immediately stopped and Pope Francis walked toward the police officer, who was lying on the ground. An ambulance arrived on the scene and took the police officer away and Pope Francis resumed his tour. Pope Francis heads to Peru after he finishes his visit to the northern Chilean city of Iquique.

Tripoli (Libya), Jan 18 (ANI): Libya's coastguard said that it has rescued 240 African migrants attempting to make the dangerous trek across the Mediterranean to mainland Europe, bringing them back to Tripoli. The rescues of Libyan boats were made for three consecutive days. The development amounts to just under a thousand migrants in the last week. When combined with European Union and Italian vessels, and NGO rescue ships, it brings the total number to about 2,400 over the same period. Trump accuses Russia of helping N. Korea evade economic sanctions

Washington, D.C. (U.S.), Jan 18 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump on Thursday accused Russia of helping North Korea evade economic sanctions by filling in gaps left as China has withdrawn its aid. Asserting that Russia is helping North Korea get supplies in violation of the international sanctions, Trump added that Pyongyang is getting closer every day to being able to deliver a long-range missile to the United States. But U.S. President praised the actions of Chinese President Xi Jinping, saying Beijing is 'doing a lot' to help rein in Pyongyang, but also saying China could do more. President Trump said North Korea is getting closer every day to being able to send a missile to strike the United States, adding that the U.S. needs to add to its missile defense systems. Anti-Pakistan, anti-China slogans raised during protest rally in Sindh

Sann (Sindh), Jan 18 (ANI): Paying tribute to scholar ideologue, and founder of Sindhudesh Movement Ghulam Murtaza Shah Syed, also known as G. M. Syed on his 114th birth anniversary, the Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM) organised a massive rally where they demanded freedom of Sindh from Pakistani occupation, the abolition of human rights abuses and religious fundamentalism. Syed's birth anniversary is being observed in his hometown Sann. The Pakistan state forces tried to sabotage the event. Angry coach tells perv doctor to 'go to hell' in court

Michigan (United States), Jan 18 (ANI): Thomas Brennan, a coach who sent dozens of young girls for treatment to USA Gymnastics team former doctor Larry Nassar, erupted in anger during the child molester's sentencing hearing and said him to 'go to hell' for his crimes. Thomas Brennan, a youth gymnastics coach, confronted Nassar in a Michigan courtroom on the second day of a sentencing hearing for the former doctor, who pleaded guilty in November to multiple counts of sexual assault. Brennan's outburst came as he stood next to one of Nassar's victims, Gwen Anderson, as she recounted the molestation she suffered at the hands of Nassar. Burst of snow hits parts of South, northern U.S.

Northern U.S, (U.S.A), Jan 18 (ANI): The burst of snow across the country has forced some cities to close schools. A layer of ice had coated roads and bridges causing extremely hazardous driving conditions. Crashes have resulted in blocked roads in multiple locations. Protest erupts as Greek Parliament approves more bailout reforms

Athens (Greece), Jan 16 (ANI): Thousands of Greeks took to the streets of Athens to protest new reforms which could make significant changes to the country. The Greek Parliament on Monday passed several reforms demanded by international lenders in exchange for fresh bailout funds. The bill introduces a new electronic process for foreclosures on overdue loans and outstanding payments to the state, opens up closed professions, restructures family benefits and makes it harder to call a strike. About 20,000 people rallied outside parliament during the vote. Bus, subway and city rail services were disrupted and some flights were grounded as workers went on strike to protest against the bill. As the vote was in progress, police fired teargas to disperse protesters who hurled stones and petrol bombs at them.

Scores injured after lobby floor of Indonesian stock exchange collapses

Jakarta (Indonesia), Jan 16 (ANI): At least 77 people have been injured after the lobby floor at the Indonesian stock exchange in Jakarta, collapsed on Monday. Witnesses said a mezzanine floor overlooking the main lobby of the Exchange collapsed. The high-rise building was built in the late 1990s and was bombed by Islamist militants in 2000.
