Paris (France), Oct 24 (ANI): French President Emmanuel Macron's dog Nemo was filmed urinating on a fireplace at the Elysee Palace during a meeting with three junior ministers last week. Macron and his ministers laughed off the incident, which took place in the President's office. Nemo, a cross between a black labrador and a griffon, was adopted by Macron and his wife from a French animal welfare organisation. He is said to be about one or two years old.

Myagdi (Nepal), Oct 23 (ANI): Candidates of several political parties in Nepal have filed nominations for the first phase of elections of House of Representative and Provincial Council. The elections in 32 districts are scheduled to be held on November 26. The remaining 45 districts will have elections on December 7. Candidates have filed nominations for 37 constituencies of House of Representatives and 74 constituencies of the Provincial Council. The nominations for the December 7 elections shall take place for the remaining 45 districts on November 2.
London, Oct 23 (ANI): Marking the 70th anniversary of the tribal invasion attack of Jammu and Kashmir, a massive protest was held outside the Pakistan High Commission by Kashmiri activists in London. On October 22, 1947, Pakistan army, disguised as tribal raiders, invaded the undivided state of Jammu and Kashmir. Marked as 'Black day', the protest was organised by Jammu Kashmir National Independence Alliance, an umbrella grouping of Kashmiri Political Parties and Civil society organisations, based in U.K. The protesters chanted anti-Pakistan slogans and demanded an end to forceful occupation of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Gilgit-Baltistan. Dhaka (Bangladesh), Oct 23 (ANI): Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, on Monday, inaugurated the new chancery complex of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka. Addressing the gathering, Swaraj said that Bangladesh comes first in India's neighbour first policy. She said there are some issues left unresolved between the two countries and the two nations will resolve them with honesty. Sushma Swaraj arrived in Dhaka on October 22 on a two-day visit to attend a joint consultative committee meeting to review the bilateral ties between India and Bangladesh. Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama held a concert at Texas A and M University benefiting hurricane relief efforts in College Station, Texas. In a rare show of unity, U.S. President Donald Trump praised all five of his living predecessors thanking them in a video for their work in helping to raise funds for aid victims of recent hurricanes. Brazil, Oct 23 (ANI): A group of 245 thrill-seekers, tied to ropes, jumped from a 30-metre tall bridge in a world-record attempt for "rope jumping". The death-defying event took place in Brazil's Hortolandia. In the video, the participants were seen leaping from the bridge, each wearing white helmets, while tied together with a rope. The jumpers fell almost simultaneously and swung back and forth until coming to standstill before with some descending to the water below and other climbing up to the bridge.

It was on this day, October 22 in 1947 that the Pakistan Army disguised as tribal raiders and invaded the undivided State of Jammu and Kashmir. Protests were held in Bagh, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Kotli, Gilgit and Hajirah and other places. Kabul (Afghanistan), Oct 22 (ANI): At least 72 people were killed after suicide bombers attacked two mosques in Afghanistan. A bomber walked into a Shi'ite Muslim mosque in Kabul and detonated an explosive, said one of the worshippers. Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the terrorist outfit did not provide any evidence for the claim. In recent months, Shi'ite Muslims have suffered a series of attacks in Afghanistan and many of them have been claimed by the Sunni Muslim militants of IS.
U.S.A., Oct 22 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump took to his twitter handle on Saturday morning to announce that he will release the final batch of classified government documents surrounding the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Trump tweeted: "Subject to the receipt of further information, I will be allowing, as President, the long blocked and classified JFK FILES to be opened." According to the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992, the deadline for the federal government to release the files is October 26, 2017. Under this act, the government will release thousands of never-before-seen documents related to JFK's assassination with one person possessing the power to block them-the president- who can cite national security concerns and prevent their release. Full release of these documents would mark a significant step for researchers, who have waited decades to unravel the mystery.

New Delhi, Oct 21 (ANI): As many as 3, 40,000 Rohingya Muslim children are living in squalid camps without enough food and water. United Nations International Children's Fund revealed the figures on October 20, in a report on refugees from Myanmar who have fled to neighbouring Bangladesh. UNICEF also informed that many of the children are traumatised by brutal acts by Myanmar soldiers. Hundreds of thousands of Rohingya people have been forced to leave their villages, after the army launched a crackdown on the Muslim minority. UNICEF's report claims that over 12000 children are arriving in Bangladesh every week and are forced to settle in dirty shelters that pose a high risk of water born diseases.
New Delhi, Oct 21 (ANI): At least nine people have been killed after a vampire scare triggered mob violence in Malawi. Relative of one of the victims informed her grand-daughter was with her son who was carrying a bag on his back. It had numerous pockets and among the items he was carrying was an inflatable mattress. When the angry villagers saw that and the special drinking bottle he was holding they thought he was a blood sucker, a vampire and they started beating him and killed them both. The attacks spread to Malawi's second biggest city Blantyre on October 18. While one person was torched, another was stoned to death The residents are now living in fear of the violence. Police on Friday informed that as many as 140 suspected members of vigilante mobs have been arrested. Authorities also blame a criminal gang seeking to terrorise residents.
