Mahato warned of a final and fresh agitation if the ruling coalition conducted the elections without their consent at a time when they were struggling for the rights of the Madhesi people. Madhesi people don't want to take part in the polls without ensuring their fundamental rights. Rastriya Janata Party- Nepal (RJP-N) is ready to take part in the polls only if the government postpones the poll date and addressed the rights of Madhesi.

Brexit bill wins UK parliamentary vote, reaches its next parliamentary stage

London (United Kingdom), Sep 12 (ANI): Brexit has moved to its next parliamentary stage after over 13 hours of debate in Britain's Parliament. The UK lawmakers backed the EU Withdrawal Bill by 326 votes to 290 despite critics warning that it represented a "power grab" by ministers. The bill, that is designed to end supremacy of EU law in the UK, will get UK same regulatory framework as the EU. The opponents of Prime Minister Theresa May trashed the bill as power grab by the Conservative government. Markets, schools closed as storm floods Philippines

Manila (Philippines), Sep 12 (ANI): Heavy rains caused flooding in some parts of the Philippine and nearby provinces, disrupting traffic and shutting down financial markets, government offices and schools, as a storm swept across the main Luzon island. The weather bureau raised storm-warning signals over Manila and 19 provinces in Luzon as a tropical cyclone with winds up to 60 km per hour made landfall before noon over the eastern province of Quezon. Authorities ordered the evacuation of residents in some towns submerged by floodwater and 13 people are reported to be missing till now. The weather bureau said it was also keeping an eye on typhoon Talim, which is packing winds of up to 120 kph and moving toward the country's northern tip.

Nepal EC objects cabinet expansion as PM Deuba inducts 4 more ministers

Kathmandu (Nepal), Sep 12 (ANI): The Election Commission (EC) has said its attention has been drawn to Tuesday Cabinet expansion and that the move violates the election code of conduct. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Monday inducted three ministers and one state minister from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal, making the Council of Ministers the largest ever in the country's history. The commission on August 31 had given seven-point directions to Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. Prime Minister Deuba, who took over the office of four months ago, have got 388 votes with eight short for two-third majority which has compelled the 40th Premier of Nepal to expand his cabinet for 5th time during his honeymoon period to secure his government as well as to appease all the members.

Power supply could be down in Florida for weeks: White House

Bossert added that it may also take weeks before residents are able to return to the Keys Hurricane Irma flooded cities, leaving almost 6.5 million homes and businesses without power in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama. Delta Air Lines cancels 800 flights due to Hurricane Irma

New Delhi, Sep 12 (ANI): Delta Air Lines cancelled more than 800 flights due to Hurricane Irma, now a tropical storm blowing through Atlanta. The U.S. airline said Irma is bringing strong crosswinds that could make landing dangerous. Irma, ranked as one of the most powerful hurricanes recorded in the Atlantic, hit a wide swath of Florida over the past few days. Delta operates the world's largest airline hub at Hartsfield-Jackson, and flight cancellations can disrupt travel plans of tens of thousands of people from around the country and the world. At the same time, Delta is working on resuming service to airports in Florida that got hit by Irma.

Ancient Viking sword found in Norwegian mountains

Lillehammer and Oppland (Norway), Sep 12 (ANI): A father and son discovered an incredibly well-preserved Viking sword while reindeer hunting in the mountains of Oppland, Norway. A video shot and shared on social media by 'Secrets of the Ice' offered a close look at the ancient sword. The Norwegian archeologists dated the Viking sword to the period between 850 to 950 AD, making the find approximately 1100 years old.

Cubans wade, boat through downtown Havana after Hurricane Irma

Cuba (U.S.A), Sep 11 (ANI): Waves of up to 36 feet smashed businesses along Havana's sea side drive on Sunday morning in the wake of Hurricane Irma, pummeling famous hotels such as the Copacabana, which were evacuated along with flooded neighbourhoods. First responders spent the night rescuing people from their homes in central Havana as the sea struck with historic force in the flood-prone area, even as the storm approached Florida to the north. Irma did not hit Havana directly and brought only moderate wind and rain, but the storm surge was still driving giant waves over the sea wall on Sunday.

President Putin sends FIFA World Cup trophy on Russia's tour

Moscow (Russia), Sep 11 (ANI): The Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup trophy began its longest ever national journey across a host country in Russia before the 2018 championship. Russian President Vladimir Putin and FIFA President Gianni Infantino launched the trophy's tour, with the head of world soccer's governing body praising Russia's readiness for the event. Surrounded by hundreds of young soccer players, Infantino and Putin took turns to hold the FIFA World Cup in their hands before it started its 123-day, 26,000 km journey. The trophy will visit 24 Russian cities, from Vladivostok in the far east to Kaliningrad, the most westerly of the host cities.

Egyptian archaeologists discover 3,000-year-old tomb of goldsmith

Egypt, Sep 11 (ANI): Egyptian archaeologists have discovered a tomb of a prominent goldsmith who lived more than 3,000 years ago near the Nile city of Luxor. Egypt's Minister of Antiquities Khaled Al-Anani said the tomb dated back to Egypt's 18th dynasty New Kingdom era - around 15th century B.C. The site includes a courtyard and niche with a statue of the goldsmith Amenemhat and his wife and one of his sons, the ministry said in a statement. Egypt's ancient relics are a draw for tourists and authorities hope new finds can also help attract more visitors.
