Kathmandu (Nepal), Aug 16 (ANI): Indian Embassy in Nepal celebrated India's 71st Independence Day with great pomp and gaiety on Tuesday. Manjeev Singh Puri, Indian ambassador to Nepal unfurled the flag at the embassy, which was followed by a cultural show by members of Indian Culture Center. To mark the occasion, Indian Mission to Nepal also gifted 30 ambulances and six buses to various hospitals, organizations and non-profits in Nepal. The Indian ambassador also distributed cheques worth 57.3 Million Nepali Rupees and blankets to kin of deceased soldiers of Indian Armed Forces. Since 1994, the Government of India has gifted 632 ambulances to various organizations across 73 districts in Nepal. This has helped in bringing healthcare services to the doorstep of thousands of people who do not have easy access to Health Centers. New Delhi, Aug 16 (ANI): The United States President Donald Trump said that both sides of the clashes contributed to the violence which happened in a white supremacists rally in Charlottesville, Virginia over the weekend. As per a Washington Post report, Trump said the events were horrible thing to watch, but he emphasised that both sides of the clashes contributed to the violence. Earlier, Trump had condemned the violence in Charlottesville saying that "the hatred and division in America must stop as we are all Americans first."
New Delhi, Aug 16 (ANI): Firefighters battled wildfires raging northeast of Athens as Greece asked for help from its European partners to prevent them from spreading. The fire spread to three more towns, damaging dozens of homes and burning thousands of hectares of pine forest. A state of emergency has been declared in the area. Three firefighting planes and six water-throwing helicopters operated through the day, assisting 210 firefighters and about 100 military personnel battling the blaze on the ground near the town of Kapandriti.
U.S.A, Aug 15 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump authorised an inquiry into China's alleged theft of intellectual property, a step that analysts say is aimed at pressuring Beijing into a negotiated settlement to revise its practices. Trump directed trade representative Robert Lighthizer to look into whether to investigate China's trade policies. The U.S. alleges that China forces foreign companies to turn over technology to Chinese joint venture partners. It also doesn't do enough to protect intellectual property theft. As per the White House, those policies are harming U.S. businesses and jobs. Analysts say it could also escalate tensions with Beijing at a time when Washington is asking for its help on North Korea.
Sept-Sorts (France), Aug 15 (ANI): A young girl died and several others got severely injured when a car plowed into the terrace of a pizzeria in a small town East of Paris. Giving details of the incident, a French prosecutor said "I regret to say there are 14 victims, a young girl aged 12 has died. Five victims are in life threatening state, including a 3 year old boy who has been taken to hospital in critical condition." A32 year-old man, thought to be "depressive" and "unstable", was behind the wheel and drove deliberately into a pizzeria hurting several diners, according to the police. Police also said that they are quite sure that it was not an accident. It was a national holiday when the restaurant was busy and everyone on the terrace was hit.
Spain, Aug 15 (ANI): The administration has deployed civil guards to handle the security arrangements at Barcelona Airport to limit disruptions from a planned strike by security staff. Spain's Civil Guards have taken over the security controls to keep a tab at the crowded airport. Nowadays, holidaymakers are arriving in record numbers to Spain. Barcelona's El Prat is Spain's second busiest airport, and a major hub for international airlines, giving easy access to the north-eastern Mediterranean coast. According to a statement released by State media on Tuesday, Kim Jong Un has opted to wait before executing the plans to fire missiles towards Guam as he watches the United States actions a little longer. Kathmandu (Nepal), Aug 15 (ANI): Scores of devout Hindus thronged temple in Kathmandu to celebrate 'Janmashtami', a festival that marks the birth of Lord Krishna. According to the Hindu mythology, it is believed that Lord Krishna was born at the midnight and is the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the Preserver of the Universe. Devotees were queued up outside the temple premises since early morning to offer prayers to the Hindu God. Chants of religious hymns resonated in and around the temples which were decked up.

Nepal, Aug 14 (ANI): The natural calamity that has affected the land and electricity in the rural areas of Nepal and killed around 56 peoples. Reportedly, 2,569 houses have collapsed, 39,272 houses have submerged in water and about six million people are affected throughout the country. Nepal PM said "I am devastated by the loss of lives and property caused by floods and landslides triggered by incessant rains in Terai and Inner Terai. Expressing condolences for the deceased, I would like to extend my sincere sympathy for their families. I have already instructed authorities concerned to rescue flood victims, move them to safer locations and immediately provide relief to them. All four security agencies have already swung into action in the flood-hit areas, (I request) to stay calm and help each other in whatever way they can,"
Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), Aug 14 (ANI): At least 17 people were killed and eight others got injured after unidentified gunmen opened fire on customers at a restaurant in Burkina Faso's capital, Ouagadougou. Medical assistance was rushed to the spot as the Army sealed of the city centre. Burkina Faso has been the target of deadly attacks in the past as well and currently it is not clear who was behind this attack. In January 2016, a similar attack took place when at least 30 people were killed after gunmen struck a restaurant in the capital.
Gaighat (Udayapur), Aug 14 (ANI): At least 56 people died due to water havoc in various parts of Nepal after clouds outburst. The heavy downpour, which started last week, has already claimed lives of 56 people, left 39 missing and injured 33. According to the data from the Police Headquarter in Kathmandu, a total of 19 people were reported to be dead in Eastern Nepal, 23 in Mid-Nepal, two in Western Nepal and 12 in Mid-West region of Nepal.
Poland, Aug 14 (ANI): At least 5 people were killed and several others were injured after a severe storm hit Poland. According to the Regional Crisis Management Team office in Gdansk, two girls were crushed by falling trees while sleeping in a tent when a storm hit their campground in northern Poland. Nearly 1,70,000 people were left without power and 800 buildings have been damaged in storms that hit mostly Poland's north and west.
Guca (Serbia), Aug 14 (ANI): The 57th Guca Brass Band Festival in Serbia's liveliest traditional music event has witnessed thousands of people crowding the streets and savouring the trumpet beat. Passages, tents, stalls and restaurants in the town were overwhelmed by trumpets blaring from all sides and permeated by the smell of lamb and pork on the spit, cabbage in clay pots and plum brandy fumes. Guca, a normally sleepy town with only 3,700 people in the rolling hills of southwestern Serbia, is hosting the country's biggest party, with 50 brass bands competing for the coveted Golden Trumpet.
Kenya, Aug 13 (ANI): At least eleven people are believed to have been killed by police in a violent clash in Kenya. The clash broke out in Nairobi's slums on Saturday after Uhuru Kenyatta was re-elected as the President. Areas loyal to opposition leader Raila Odingr are witnessing unrest. The western city of Kisumu also felt the rage as a man was killed in the city. The opposition accused the security forces of killing more than hundred people without providing any proof of the allegations. The National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition of Raila Odinga, who lost last two elections, claimed the election commission's systems were hacked. Kenyans fear that history might repeat itself as the signs are similar to violence that erupted after the 2007 contested election, when as many as 1,200 people were killed and hundreds other were injured.
Quetta (Pakistan), Aug 13 (ANI): At least 15 people were killed and several others got injured in a bomb explosion which took place in Pakistan's Quetta on Saturday night. Islamic State took the responsibility of the dreadful attacked saying a motorcycle suicide bomber had killed soldiers. The authorities said that the attacker rammed the bike into a military vehicle as it drove by and the patrol was the target in which at least seven civilians were among the dead. The blast comes as Pakistan marks the 70th anniversary of the country's independence from Britain. Meanwhile, the injured people were taken to the nearby hospital for treatment.
Washington (USA), Aug 13 (ANI): Singer Britney Spears was recently left shaken after a fan went rogue, storming onto the stage and started doing cartwheels to get her attention. The man, identified as Jesse Webb (37), unexpectedly rushed onto the stage during Britney's 'Piece Of Me' residency show at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, reports E! online. According to the video that was shared on the social media, Webb can be seen being stopped by Britney's backup dancers as security surrounded her and took her offstage. Before the 35-year-old was swiftly whisked off the stage, she could be heard over her mic asking the security if the man has a gun. According to further reports, the man was arrested for trespassing. A spokesperson for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said, "Webb was asked to leave the concert by the security prior to him jumping on stage and dancing."
