London, Aug 29 (ANI): Baloch and Sindhi leaders held a joint protest against the China-Pakistan Economic corridor (CPEC) outside the Chinese Embassy in London. This is a first such joint protest by the activists belonging to different organisations for a common purpose of ceasing the CPEC activities and gross human rights violations. The protest was attended by activists and nationalist leaders who shouted slogans against the Pakistani security agencies for committing gross human rights violations in the name of economic pact. They claimed that thousands of people were displaced to facilitate a wide array of projects under the CPEC without a proper plan of rehabilitation or providing any compensation. Activists, both at the international and the local level, have been raising voice against the CPEC, dubbed as a 'game changer' by the Pakistani establishment.
Leipzig (Germany), Aug 27 (ANI): Extending thanks to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for expressing his concern on the Baloch rights issue, a group of activists from the Baloch Republican Party staged a protest in Leipzig, Germany. The event was marked to commemorate the 10th death anniversary of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti. The protestors carried the Indian flag and raised slogans against Pakistan for carrying atrocities in Balochistan. It may be recalled that Prime Minister Modi had spoken about the plight of the Baloch residents during his Independence Day speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort.
Islamabad (Pakistan), Aug 26 (ANI): With Finance Minister Arun Jaitley opting out, Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das on Friday attended the two-day conference of the SAARC Finance Ministers' meet in Islamabad. It is being assumed that the possibility of Jaitley attending the meet was clouded over India-Pakistan relations touching hitting yet another obstacle after Home Minister Rajnath Singh was allegedly given 'undiplomatic' treatment by Pakistani officials.
Nepal, Aug 26 (ANI): Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Friday added 13 new ministers from Nepali Congress (NC) to expand the cabinet for the fourth time. There are 31 members in the council of ministers after the new appointments. The newly appointed ministers from Nepali Congress are Sita Devi Yadav, Arjun Narsingh KC, Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, Bal Krishna Khand, Suryaman Gurung, Keshab Kumar Budhathoki, Nabindra Raj Joshi, Hridayaram Thani, Deepak Giri, Gagan Thapa, Jeevan Bahadur Shahi, Shankhar Bhandari and Romi Gauchan. Sita Devi Yadav, who is the treasurer of NC, has been handed over the responsibility of the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction while Arjun Narsingh KC, who earlier refused to join the government after not getting the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been given the Ministry of Urban Development. Islamabad (Pakistan), Aug 25 (ANI): Pakistan's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nafees Zakaria on Thursday said that Pakistan has once again called upon India for a meaningful and result-oriented dialogue on Kashmir, and vowed that Islamabad would continue to extend moral and political support to the Kashmiris in their struggle for self determination. Zakaria said that for more than four decades Pakistan has been asking for a result-oriented and sustainable dialogue with India, but most often, Indian had backed out at the last minute with some excuse. He added that Pakistan has already extended another invitation for a dialogue to India, but had made it clear that Kashmir would be the main issue on the negotiation table.

Kabul, Aug 25 (ANI): At least nine people were killed and several others injured in a militant attack on the American University of Afghanistan in Kabul on Wednesday night. According to reports, the militants opened fire after storming into the university, trapping an unknown number of professors and students inside. Some, however, have managed to escape. A witness said at least a dozen injured people have been transferred from the campus in less than two hours of the attack.
Balochistan, Aug 24 (ANI): In a turn of events, pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Baloch freedom fighter Akbar Bugti were seen in protests across Balochistan on Wednesday. Residents tired of Pakistan's atrocities resorted to protests against the genocide. These protestors held down Pakistan's flag and crushed them under feet. Protests have been erupted from past four days in Sui, Dera Bugti, Jafarabad and Nasirabad among other locations in Balochistan.
Birgunj, Nepal, Aug 24 (ANI): Contractual teachers in Nepal's Parsa district have resorted to protests against a new law that makes it mandatory for them to appear for an exam before they are made permanent. An amendment was added to the Nepal Constitution, which states that temporary teachers have to appear for an exam to be made permanent. If they fail or don't appear for it, they would not be allowed to continue in their jobs. Reacting to this, those affected by the amendment have launched protests against the decision and demanded that they be made permanent. Around 20,000 temporary teachers have joined hands to protest against the law. They have sought its revocation and called it unfair as there are teachers who have served for over 30 years and still not been made permanent.

Naypyidaw (Myanmar), Aug 22 (ANI): Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj met Myanmar Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi in the national capital on Monday. Giving details, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Vikas Swarup said to strengthen the India-Myanmar bilateral ties, Sushma Swaraj extended collaboration in sectors of power, education and agriculture during her meeting with Myanmar President and Foreign Minister. Nepal, Aug 21 (ANI): Seeking justice for the Madhesi agitators, who lost their lives during the Madheshi movement, Nepal Member of Parliament Kedar Nandan Chaudhary said the Tarai-Madhesh Loktantrik Party (TMLP) was hopeful that Nepal's newly-elected government would fulfil the demands of Madhesis.
