In an apparent attack on India, he said no country should try and hide behind the word 'terrorism' and divert attention from demands of freedom. Nepal, Aug 04 (ANI): Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' took oath of office as new Prime Minister of Nepal on Thursday afternoon. This is the second time when CPN (Maoist) chairman Dahal was sworn in as the Prime Minister. Dahal, who earlier led the government for nine months in 2008, is the first communist leader to become Prime Minister twice. He was elected as the Prime Minister after securing 363 votes in Parliament on Wednesday. Breaking the age-old tradition, Dahal took oath in the name of people instead of God. Although the oath book had the word God in it, Dahal spelled people' while taking the oath.
Islamabad, Aug 04 (ANI): Yasin Malik's wife Mishal Malik sat on hunger strike over union Home Minister Rajnath Singh's Pakistan visit. Various religious activists and jihadi outfits in Pakistan protested against the visit of Rajnath Singh and accused him for the shutdown in the Kashmir Valley. Nepal, Aug 03 (ANI): CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal was elected as the new prime minister of Nepal on Wednesday. Dahal succeeded in becoming the prime minister for a second term with the backing of the largest party Nepali Congress and Madhesi parties. Out of 573 lawmakers present during the Parliament session, 363 voted for Dahal while 210 voted against him. Nepali Congress, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Democratic, Federal Socialist Forum Nepal, RPP, Tarai Madhes Demorcatic Party, Sadbhavana Party, CPN (United) among other parties which voted for Dahal.
Islamabad, Aug 03 (ANI): Activists and supporters of two militant outfits Hizbul Mujahideen and the Harkat-ul-Mujahideen staged protests against the visit of Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh to Pakistan capital Islamabad on Wednesday. Singh has arrived in Islamabad for the two-day SAARC Home Ministers meeting. The militant outfits raised anti-India slogans about 10 kilometers from the Pakistan National Assembly. They accused Home Minister Singh of "deploying soldiers in Kashmir to shed the blood of innocents". Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin warned the Pakistan government against welcoming Singh.
Dubai, Aug 03 (ANI): An Emirates airline flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Dubai on Wednesday crash landed at Dubai International Airport with around 275 passengers on board. All passengers were evacuated safely and no injuries have been reported so far. The plane made an emergency landing after a technical snag was reported.
Nepal, Aug 02 (ANI): Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Tuesday officially registered his candidacy for the post of Nepal Prime Minister. The new Prime Minister is likely to be elected by the House through a majority vote on Wednesday. Dahal's name was reportedly proposed by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba. In total, 11 political parties have backed Dahal's candidature. The post has been lying vacant since the former prime minister K P Sharma Oli resigned on July 24.

The residents are strongly opposing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as it has failed to provide any tangible benefits for them.
Canada, Aug 02 : The Baloch National Movement (BNM) held a protest in Toronto, Canada, on July 31 against the enforced disappearance of Abdul Wahid Baloch, a well-known literary activist and human rights campaigner, at the hands of Pakistani security agencies. Holding placards and banners, the protesters demanded immediate and safe release of Wahid from illegal custody. They also raised demands of 'free Balochistan' from Pakistan's illegal occupation during their protest. The BNM appealed for urgent intervention by the United Nations and international bodies to stop the crimes against humanity in Balochistan by the state armed forces. Meanwhile, BSO (Azad) president Karima Baloch strongly condemned Wahid's abduction and appealed to the world human rights organizations to save the social activist's live. The whereabouts of Wahid, a resident of Lyari in Pakistan, are still unknown after he went missing on July 26. His family alleges that he was picked up by the law enforcement agencies.

The project is being touted as bringing about a spectacular socio-economic change in the region, but alienated residents currently feel that both China and Pakistan are past masters in lies and deceit, as before firming up the project, all stakeholders were not consulted. Kirkuk (Iraq), July 31 (ANI): At least five workers were killed when several unidentified gunmen attacked two energy facilities in Iraq's northern province of Kirkuk on Sunday. As per reports, the security forces shot dead one of the gunmen while the four others blew themselves up later after clashes with the troops. At least five gunmen wearing explosive vests stormed the oil field of Bai Hassan. Two oil storage tanks were blown up during the clash, setting huge fire and sending column of black smoke above the area.

Muzaffarabad (PoK), July 27 (ANI): Protests have erupted all across Pakistan Occupied Kashmir over anger and resentment at what locals are describing as a rigged July 21 election which saw the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) win 32 out of 41 seats or more than seventy five percent of the seats. Widespread protests were witnessed today in the major POK towns like Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Chinari and Mirpur after members of the PML (N) killed a supporter of the Muslim Conference (MC) in Muzaffarabad. The protestors burnt tyres, blocked traffic and clashed with police. Several cases of injuries were reported as the POK administration moved to clamp down on press reporting. The protesters closed all commercial centers in the cities and held demonstrations outside the POK assembly at Muzaffarabad and Government buildings.
