Tehran (Iran), May 23 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Tehran, Iran, on Monday. Ghani arrived in Tehran for signing of the trilateral agreement on Chabahar port between India, Iran and Afghanistan. India will contribute in building the terminals and cargo berths at Chabahar port by investing USD 200 million in the first phase. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a two-day state visit to Iran, had crucial meetings with the leaders of the host country and witnessed signing of various agreements having economic and strategic importance.

Terhran, May 23 (ANI): As many as 12 memorandums of understandings (MoUs) were signed between India and Iran on Monday. These MoUs were signed in the presence of PM Narendra Modi and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, along with other delegations of the states. Out of the agreements signed MoU between IRCON and Construction, Development of Transport and Infrastructure Company (CDTIC) of Iran was the highlight of the event.

Nepal, May 21 (ANI): Former Prime Minister of Nepal Dr. Baburam Bhattarai on Friday talked about how the current regime led by Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli was taking xenophobic positions, just to divert the attention of the people from failure of the government to function properly. He mentioned how Nepal was dragging both India and China into internal politics. Dr. Bhattarai was of the view that Nepal's national interest should be to keep off from the competition of the neighbours and take benefit out of the co-operation between India and China. Nepal, May 20 (ANI): The Madeshi Youth forum has decided to protest in the Kathmandu valley from May 19-29 to pressurise the government to accept their demands in the newly adopted constitution that was promulgated last year in September. Hundreds of Madeshi youth have decided to stage protest meetings in different locations in Kathmandu. Madeshis feel that they have been neglected under the new constitution. The Madeshis were demanding demarcation of provinces, fixing of electoral constituencies on the basis of population and proportional representation in the constitution. The Madhesis and their allies have been staging protests in Nepal for the past six months for their demands.
Ecuador, May 19 (ANI): Two earthquakes struck Ecuador's coast on Wednesday, causing minor injuries and damage to property. Wednesday's tremors, measuring 6.7 and 6.8 in magnitude cut electricity in some coastal areas and sent people running into the streets as far away as the highland capital of Quito. The second tremor struck just before midday although there was no tsunami warning. Ecuador had earlier been hit by 7.8 tremors which killed more than 650 people last month.

Nepal, May 17 (ANI): Cadres of Federal Alliance and security personnel clashed near Nepal's PM K.P Sharma Oli's official residence at Baluwatar on Tuesday. No casualties have been reported in the scuffle. The anti-constitution protesters, who have been demonstrating at the Nepal's Singh Darbar (administrative center) for two consecutive days, focused at staging the protest at PM's residence. The Prime Minister was not at his residence as protesters marched chanting anti-government slogans towards his residence. The Madhesis and their allies have been staging protests in Nepal for the past six months. Earlier, the community has staged border-centric protest, halting the import and export from India and Nepal. Madhesis want their region, home to half of the country's 28 million people, to become an autonomous state within Nepal and not broken up as envisaged in the new constitution.

London, May 14 (ANI): A group of Kashmiris, mostly from Pakistan occupied Kashmir, held a demonstration outside the Pakistan High Commission in London to protest against the brutal murder of Arif Shahid, a Kashmiri leader in Pakistan. Protesters shouted slogans against Pakistan's spy agency, the ISI, and demanded a punishment for his murderers. The protest was organized by Jammu and Kashmir National Awami Party (JKNAP). Unsurprisingly, Arif Shahid's killers are still at large and no justice has been delivered to victims' family. The protest marked the death anniversary of Arif Shahid. 62-year-old Arif Shahid, a Kashmiri leader and chairman of the All Parties National Alliance (APNA), was killed on May 13, 2013 at his residence in Rawalpindi.
Nepal, May 14(ANI): In a bid to intensify their ongoing protest against the government, a group of youths from the Madhesis community left for Kathmandu to gherao Singh Darbar. Criticizing the Central government, member of Nepal Sadbhawana Party, Shiva Patel, said as the government was not fulfilling their demands, preparations are in full swing to take this movement to a national-level. Nepal, May 13 (ANI): Two Britons and a Mexican have become the first foreigners to climb Mount Everest from the Nepal side, climbing officials said on Thursday, after disasters in 2014 and 2015 killed dozens and forced mountaineers off the world's tallest peak. Briton Kenton Cool, 42, Robert Richard Lucas, 47, both from Britain and David Liano Gonzalez, 36, of Mexico, reached the 8,850 metre (29,035 feet) summit at 8.24 a.m. A nine-man sherpa team reached the summit on Wednesday after setting ropes on the final stretch in time for the first clear weather window of this year's campaign to open.
