Nepal, May 12 (ANI): Several priests of Nepal's Birgunj area took out a rally against the government to protest against long power cuts. A 24-hour long power cut without any prior information had irked the priests. People are also facing acute water shortage in the country. All people, who are suffering, are united against the government and our voice remains strong until the Nepal Government addresses our demands. According to the protesters, despite apprising the government of the situation, their problems have not been resolved. The protesters have now decided to hold a massive protest to press for their demands.

Nepal, May 11 (ANI): Chairman of Sanghiya Samajwadi Forum Nepal, Upendra Yadav, said that Madhesi protest, demanding better representation in Constitution, will revolve around Kathmandu until the community's demands were not met by the government. Criticising the central government for not taking a call on demands, Yadav said that demonstrators will gherao Singh Darbar in the coming days as a mark of protest. Yadav recalled how the blockade at India-Nepal border had resulted in black-marketting of goods, which led to commodities being sold at sky-rocketing prices. Due to the months-long Madhesi agitation, Nepal's industrial sector incurred losses worth 200 billion Nepalese rupees. The protests that stretched for over four months saw deaths of more than 50 people.
Gilgit Baltistan, May 10: People in Gilgit Baltistan continue to suffer due to government's apathy and lack of governance since the region was illegally occupied by Pakistan. Locals feel completely alienated from the ruling class, as successive governments have failed to live up to promises made to the people. Nepal, May 10 (ANI): Members of Terai-Madhesh Loktantrik Party staged a protest rally in Birgunj town against the government's decision of levying unified property tax on them. The protesters also submitted a memorandum to an official at sub-divisional municipality and asked them to withdraw the tax. The government's move to impose tax has irked the community members. Nepal government is trying to 'suppress the minorities', especially the Madhesis, ever since they have launched agitation against the country's new Constitution and raised demand for their rights.

Birgunj (Nepal), May 08 (ANI): Members of Madhesi Morcha in Birgunj organized a protest against Nepal Prime Minister K P Oli, who has rejected Madhesis' demand to rewrite the new constitution. Protesters said he was ignorant to their demands of equal rights to the minority group. Addressing Parliament, PM Oli urged the disgruntled parties to come forward for talks to resolve their issues. However, Madhesis said they were fighting for their rights for long and want justice. Madhesis want the government to rewrite the constitution so that the concept of secularism, identity-based proportional inclusive representation and federal democratic republic status to Nepal can be constitutionally ensured.

Nepal, May 04 (ANI): Madhesi labourers took out a protest rally in Birgunj and presented a memorandum to the Chief District Officer. Labourers sloganeered against the Nepali Congress, Maowadi and MLA parties for not providing full rights to labourers and instead cutting down on their conveniences. Leader of Madhes labourers' union, Ramesh Prasad Patel, said that workers are deprived of various facilities and that factories are not in a good condition. Labourers have been fighting to get their cancelled facilities restored.

The exhibition and issue of the photography quarterly is a foray into emerging photo narratives in Nepal, historical and contemporary, and the ways in which they mobilize viewership. Reputed photographers like Nayan Tara, Tanvi Mishra and Akshay Mahajan displayed their work. Photos of raging issues like Madhesi protests, political rallies, the army at work during last year's massive earthquake, and the condition of Nepal before and after the quake were put on display. Auckland, Apr 30 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee was accorded a ceremonial reception as he arrived in New Zealand on the last leg of his two-nation visit on Saturday. Pakistan, Apr 29: Pakistan's Consul General Asghar Ali Golo was photographed at a rally in Toronto with Sukhminder Singh Hansra, a supporter of Khalistan. Khalistan flags were also displayed during a pro-Khalistan rally in Greater Toronto. The most troubling aspect of the situation is the apparent link between Pakistani officials and Khalistan supporters.
