Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Apr 03 (ANI): During a round table interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and prominent Saudi business leaders, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Commerce and Industry Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al Rabiah on Sunday said that they had discussed many subjects of mutual concern and international issues. He also said that they are looking forward to enhancing bilateral trade with India. He added that they will focus on counter-terrorism initiatives and ways to ensure the greater involvement of both the countries in upstream and downstream oil, gas and hydrocarbon sector projects.

PM Modi visits TCS's all-women centre in Riyadh

Riyadh (UAE), Apr 03 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and all women IT and ITES Centre in Riyadh on Sunday. The UAE is a strictly conservative country where women are not even allowed to drive and this is the first such private company office where women are working in such large numbers. TCS is also the only foreign employer with an all-women workplace in the Saudi kingdom.

UP: Pakistani Christians light candles for Lahore's park blast victims

Karachi/Lahore, Apr 03 (ANI): Dozens of Pakistani Christians offered flowers and lit candles in Karachi to pay homage to the Lahore's Gulshan-E-Iqbal Park blast victims. A suicide bomber killed at least 72 people in a park in Lahore on Easter. Responsibility for Sunday's suicide bombing at a public park was claimed by the Pakistani Taliban's Jamaat-ur-Ahrar faction, which once declared loyalty to Islamic State. The group said it was targeting Christians. Meanwhile, representatives of different faiths expressed their solidarity with the victims of Lahore attack. More than three hundred people were wounded in the blast. Meanwhile, Leaders representing people of different faith held a news conference in Lahore. They expressed solidarity with the victims and stood hand-in-hand to express unity among Pakistani people. PM Modi arrives in Riyadh

Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Apr 02 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia on the final leg of his three nation tour. This is PM Modi's first visit to Saudi Arabia. Prime Minister Modi was received by the Governor of Riyadh, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz. Modi will meet prominent members of the royal family, as per protocol. The focus of Prime Minister Modi's visit to Saudi Arabia will be trade, investment, energy, cooperation on counter-terrorism and pending extraditions. Modi is also slated to interact with Indian community later today.

Black Market continues even after the clearance of Birgunj blockade

Birgunj (Nepal), Apr 01 (ANI): Goods-laden trucks from India are entering Nepal via the Raxaul-Birgunj border. The blockade by Madhesi agitators is over, but people in Birgunj and other areas in Terai region are still deprived of essential goods and commodities. They complain of rampant black-marketing. Fuel, food items and other essential commodities in Nepal are being supplied by India. About 70 percent of imports flow through the Birgunj-Raxaul check point. However, the markets in Madhesi-dominated areas are not getting their proper share of supply. Due to the Madhesi agitation, the industrial sector in Nepal has incurred a loss of 200 billion Nepalese rupees. More than 50 people have been killed as a result of the protest.

PM Modi meets Indian community in Washington

Washington DC, Mar 31 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday met Indian community members in Washington DC. The Prime Minister arrived in the United States early morning today to attend the fourth Nuclear Security Summit (NSS). This is Prime Minister Modi's third visit to United States in nearly two years. Leaders of 53 nations and four international organisations will be attending the NSS in Washington. In the evening, Prime Minister Modi will be attending a leaders-only thematic dinner to be hosted by President Barack Obama at the White House.

Washington D.C, Mar 31 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the United States to attend the Fourth Nuclear Security Summit which is being hosted by President Barack Obama. Washington D.C., Mar 31 (ANI): India and the United States are working together on countering their shared threats on terrorism and cyber crime, said Secretary of State John Kerry after meeting India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval at the U.S. State Department. Pak arrested alleged Indian spy to build pressure on Iran: Gilgit Baltistan National Congress chief

Washington D.C., Mar 30 (ANI): The director of the Gilgit Baltistan National Congress, Senge Hasnan Sering, has asserted that Pakistan arresting an alleged Indian spy should be seen as an attempt to build strategic pressure on Iran rather than on India. Islamabad had yesterday released a 'doctored' confessional video which showed former Indian Navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav allegedly owning up to undertaking spying activities in Pakistan. Madhesi political party intensifies protest demanding release of members

Nepal, Mar 26 (ANI): The Madhesis in Nepal have intensified their protest under the banner of Sanghiya Samajwadi Forum Nepal (SSFN), demanding immediate release of the party's officials. 17 working officials including Madhesi youths and women members of the SSFN have been arrested so far for staging dharna against Maoist leader Prachanda. Thousands of Madhesi protestors show up on the road shouting slogans, promising to continue their agitation and enforce more blockades in Birgunj district of Nepal. Protests in Birgunj have been continuing from the past six months, hampering the social fabric of the country.

Madhesis to launch agitation in Nepal's Terai region

Nepal, Mar 25 (ANI): Madhesi political parties are disappointed with the failure of the Nepal government in providing justice to the country's minority community. Sanghiya Samajwadi Forum - Nepal, a political party based in Terai region of Nepal, has threatened to launch agitations from April 15 to demand equal status for Madhesis in the country's Constitution. In Birgunj, Madhesis burnt the effigy of Maoist leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal, commonly known as Prachanda, and restricted his entry in the region. Over 50 people in Terai region have been killed during the anti-Constitution protests in the past six months.

Traditional boat race held in Karachi on Pakistan Day

Karachi, Mar 24 (ANI): As Pakistan celebrates its Republic Day, fishermen took part in traditional boat race, organised by Pakistan Coast Guards (Marine Wing), in country's southern port city of Karachi. Pakistan Day is commemorated on March 23, 1940, when the Muslim League demanded the establishment of separate nations to protect Muslims in the then British colony of India. Brigadier Atiq-Ur-Rehman said the programme was meant to involve the fishermen as well as all the residents of coastal villages in national celebration and to create in them a sense of participation and patriotism.
