New Delhi, July 22 (ANI): Pro-Russian rebels in Ukraine have handed over the two 'black box' recorders from Flight MH17, shot down over Ukraine to Malaysian officials. A leader of the Pro-Russian separatists, who controls the area where the plane came down, formally presented them early on Tuesday. Aleksander Borodai handed them over after lengthy negotiations with Malaysia whose officials thanked him for doing so. The Malaysian Airlines plane went down in an area of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic on Thursday. All 298 passengers and crew on board were killed.
Gaza, July 20 (ANI): At least 40 Palestinians were killed on Sunday by Israeli shelling in a Gaza neighbourhood, where bodies were strewn in the street and thousands fled toward a hospital packed with wounded, health officials said. The mass casualties in the Shejaia district in northeast Gaza were the heaviest since Israel launched its offensive on the Palestinian territory on July 8 after cross-border rocket strikes by militants intensified. There were no signs of a diplomatic breakthrough towards a ceasefire, and militants kept up their rocket fire on Israel.
Karachi, July 20 (ANI): Pakistani charities, funded by philanthropists, distribute free Iftar meals to the needy and poor during the holy fasting month of Ramadan. Volunteers were seen preparing Iftar food for those in need or those passing by on the street in the biggest Pakistani city, Karachi. Organisers say Haq Nawaz Welfare Trust is one of the several charities that offer free Iftar meals at one of the main squares and elsewhere in the city

Caps with various eye-catching designs, made in Dhaka, are available at reasonable prices across the country. White, multicolored, crocheted and embroidered skull caps are popular among Muslims across the globe. Bangladeshi caps are exported to Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, Indonesia, Tajikistan, Pakistan, India, South Africa and other Middle Eastern countries after meeting the domestic demand. However, export of caps has fallen as China has overtaken the international market. Alif Cap Industry, one of the leading cap makers of Bangladesh, is doing brisk business as it has exported some 300,000 pieces of caps in last one month.
Hrabove, July 18 (ANI): The black box of the Malaysian airline MH17, which was shot down in the conflict area in Eastern Ukraine, has been sent to Moscow for investigation reportedly. The Malaysian plane had fallen from a height of 10,600 metres and all passengers on board, including the crew died in the tragedy. Parts of the aircraft, human remains, money, gadgets and passports were spread across the region of Grabovo and Rassypnaya in Eastern Ukaraine. Rebel militia found remains of more than 100 people in the intial few hours of the rescue operation. Russia and Ukraine have both denied involvement. All parties are investigating into the crash of MH17.
Rawalpindi / North Waziristan/ Islamabad, July 18 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during a visit to the Army's General Headquarters (GHQ) in the garrison city of Rawalpindi, gave full-fledged support to the ongoing military operation in North Waziristan. Sharif, who was accompanied by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Home Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Adviser to the PM on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, was received by Army Chief General Raheel Sharif. According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the PM visited the 'Yadgare Shuhada' (Martyrs' Monument) and also offered prayers. Later, the Prime Minister was given a comprehensive briefing about the operation in North Waziristan by senior military commanders. The army chief informed Sharif that around 450 militants had been killed in the operation so far, whereas two captains and 26 soldiers of the Pakistan army were martyred during the operation.
Islamabad, July 18 (ANI): Pakistan Foreign Ministry accused Indian security forces of firing across the working boundary causing injuries to two Pakistani soldiers. On Thursday, a statement from the military said that "due to unprovoked Indian firing on working boundary this evening in Charwah sector near Sialkot, 2 soldiers were injured. Intermittent exchange of fire continues." In 2013, over 200 cease-fire violations were recorded on the LoC, the highest in the last decade. Both New Delhi and Islamabad blame each other of resorting to unprovoked firings.
Hrabove, Ukraine, July 18 (ANI): A Malaysian airliner was brought down over eastern Ukraine killing all 295 people aboard and sharply raising the stakes in a conflict between Kiev and pro-Moscow rebels. The plane was enroute to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam, and it is being said that it was shot down. Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said on Friday that "Russian-backed rebels" were apparently behind the shooting down of a Malaysia Airlines passenger jetliner. Ukraine's state security chief has accused Russian military intelligence officers of involvement with pro-Russian rebels in the downing of the airliner on Thursday, but Western leaders have until now been less quick to assign blame. Russian President Vladimir Putin also expressed sorrow for the loss and blamed the region's military conflict in general. Meanwhile, US President Barack Obama also offered his condolences.
Brasilia, July 17 (ANI): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff signed three bilateral agreements between the two nations in Brasilia city during the BRICS summit in Brazil. Rousseff, in a special gesture, received the Indian PM with full military honours at the Presidential Palace on the margins of the sixth BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) summit. During their meet, Modi congratulated Rousseff and people of Brazil for an outstanding hosting of the recently concluded FIFA World Cup.
Moscow, July 16, (ANI): A subway train derailed in Moscow, killing at least 20 people and injuring more than 150, in one of the deadliest incidents ever on the city's metro. Russia's Investigative Committee spokesperson said that atleast twenty people died when a Moscow underground train derailed between two stations. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said it will take some time to restore traffic on the line where the crash happened.
Brazil, July 16 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Russian President Vladimir Putin to further boost bilateral ties on the sidelines of BRICS summit in Brazil. Modi acknowledged Russia's long friendship with India and sought for enhancement of partnership in forays of nuclear, defence and energy. Meanwhile, addressing the summit, Modi urged participating countries to counter the global challenge of terrorism. He said that conflict and terrorism were the biggest threats to the world and BRICS had the capability to curb it. Brazil, July 16 (ANI): Leaders of the five BRICS countries met for the first working session in Brazil in a major victory for India, sealed the agreement on the much anticipated 100 billion dollars BRICS Development Bank. The new development bank of the group of BRICS countries will be headquartered in Shanghai, China, with the presidency initially held by India. The deal was reached after intense last-minute negotiations to settle a dispute between India and China over the headquarters of the new bank, which will have initial capital of $100 billion to invest in infrastructure projects. Negotiations to create the bank dragged on for more than two years as Brazil and India fought China's attempts to get a bigger share in the lender than the others. The stark economic and political differences between the BRICS countries have made it difficult for the group to turn rhetoric to concrete action in coordinating policies.

Cambodia, July 15 (ANI): Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, witnesses a major economic growth, but here exists only a few commercial establishments. International giants like Japan's Aeon Group are foraying into the Cambodian market and it opened its first shopping mall. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida were among the dignitaries present at the event. Fortaleza, July 15 (ANI): Talking about the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping's meeting on the sidelines of BRICS summit, Spokesperson to the Ministry of External Affairs Syed Akbaruddin said that the meeting was positive and a wide range of issues were discussed. Akbaruddin said that the issues like boundary issue, efforts to maintain peace and trade issues were discussd between the two leaders. Brazil, July 15 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of BRICS summit in Fortaleza, Brazil and discussed various issues including border and trade. The leaders of the two countries discussed the crucial boundary issue and emphasised on the need of resolving the matter amicably. Hebron/ Bethlehem, July 13 (ANI): Palestinian protesters clashed with Israeli military forces in the West Bank cities of Bethlehem and Hebron early Sunday morning in protest against an Israeli offensive in Gaza. Israeli troops responded with stun grenades, tear gas and live fire. In Hebron, seven Palestinians were injured from live fire. Another 20 were injured by rubber bullets. The clashes took place as Israel continued a five-day offensive against Hamas militants in Gaza.
