50 devotees injured in bee attack

About 50 devotees were today injured in an attack by honey bees while they were proceeding to a temple near Karaikudi in the district.

Police said the bees swarmed from a honeycomb in a tree and stung the devotees en route to the Kattu Kuruchi Kaliyamman temple.

The injured have been admitted to the government hospital at Karaikudi.
