West Indies yesterday lost their third straight match in the Super 8, losing by 113 runs to the Lankans, virtually ruling out the possibility of them making it the the Semis.

After electing to field first, the Windies managed to pick two quick wickets, however, Sanath Jayasuriya (115 runs) and skipper Mahela Jayawardena (82 runs) put up and 183-run stand for the third wicket to take the match away from the Windies.

Lower order batsman, Dilshan hit a breezy 39 off just 22 balls to take Sir Lanka to 303 for the loss of 5 wickets from their 50 overs.

Windies could not score at the required run-rate of 6 runs per over, and were eventually all out for just 190 runs from 44.3 overs. Notable contributions came from Shivnarine Chanderpaul 76 runs and Ramnaresh Sarwan 44 runs.

Jayasuriya who scored a century, also picked up 3 wickets, and was given the Man of the Match award.
