Fusion works and breaking the grid...

Apparao Galleries, Chennai, has decided to bring in some monsoonal cheer with Mystique Truths, an exhibition of mixed media works, on till July 30. Participating artists include Manish Nai’s abstracts in jute, paper and watercolour, S Kumaresan’s abstracted landscapes and P Suresh Kumar’s works based on the forms and colours in nature.

Baroda-based Project 88’s annual show, First Look, has this year works by five post-graduate students from the Maharaja Sayajirao University, on view in Mumbai till July 25.

In New Delhi, Seven Art Limited, in collaboration with Nature Morte, has artists Alexis Kersey, Ajay Desai, Jittish Kallat, M Pravat and Bharat Sikka collaborating on a show called Architectonica. Consisting of architecture designs and motifs, edgy artworks in limited editions are on view till August 8.

 

Gallery Threshold’s Feat of Clay features work by a group of ceramic artists, till August 8.

Another sculpture show, this time by Mukul Mishra, for Chawla Art Gallery, brings together a fusion of works in marble and bronze. On view till July 31.

Photography seems to be the flavour of the month with three shows in the capital. Art Alive Gallery has just opened a show of Karan Khanna’s Beyond the Grid, consisting of a representation that breaks, well, the grid.

And both Indipix Gallery and Art Konsult have shows combining photography and light. Sundeep Gajjar’s Journeys in Light is on from July 24 to August 11 at the Indipix Gallery. Amd Art Konsult’s Step in Light has photography based artworks by Sohini Chattopadhyay, till August 10.
