99Acres veteran invests in Housing.com, joins as advisor

Investment quantum undisclosed; Vineet Singh's inclusion seen as tactical move by a company started by 11 IIT grads

Mumbai-based real estate technology start-up Housing.com announced that it had added Vineet Singh, former business head of 99acres, as a senior advisor after he invested an undisclosed amount in the company.

Currently, Singh is the co-founder and chief executive officer of Buildczar.com, a business-to-business marketplace for building materials and finishing products. The addition of Singh is said to be a tactical move to add experience to a company that was essentially started by 11 graduates from IIT. The much celebrated company had lost its way and has gone through a major shakeup with almost all founding members now out on their own.
 
“On board as a personal investor, Singh will also serve as a senior advisor to the company working closely with the management team,” said Jason Kothari, chief, Housing.com
