Aban Loyd net profit declines 31%
 
Aban Loyd Chiles Offshore registered a profit after tax of Rs 10.12 crore in the third quarter of 2004-05, down by 30.68 per cent compared with previous year's net profit of Rs 14.60 crore.
 
The company's income from operations in the third quarter was Rs 57.32 crore, a fall of 14.91 per cent against the previous year's Rs 67.37 crore.
 
The company's net profit for the first nine months of 2004-05 was Rs 30.25 crore, a fall of 18.63 per cent from the previous year's Rs 37.18 crore. Income form operations for the period was Rs 185.72 crore, a decline of 11.33 per cent against the previous year's Rs 209.47 crore.
 
Coromandel net profit rises 93.7%
 
Hyderabad-based Coromandel Fertilisers Limited's net profit for the third quarter ended December, 31, 2004, increased 93.78 per cent to Rs 19.94 crore, as compared to Rs 10.29 crore in the corresponding previous quarter.
 
The company's income from operations recorded a growth of 25.78 per cent to Rs 440.66 crore (Rs 350.32 crore). The profit before tax (PBT) of the company was Rs 25.81 crore (Rs 19.18 crore) and the earnings per share (EPS) was at Rs 7.85 (Rs 4.05) for the quarter.
 
Higher volume of production and sales of complex fertilisers and pesticides during the period helped the company's profitability, according to a press release from the company.
 
Dwarikesh Sugar net up 26%
 
Dwarikesh Sugar Industries has reported a 25.8 per cent rise in sales at Rs 33.07 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2004. The net profit for the quarter stood at Rs 5.66 crore against a net loss of Rs 1.12 crore year-on-year.
 
Operating margins have jumped to 29.83 per cent from 6.31 per cent in the first quarter ended June 30, 2004, in higher realisations in sugar prices and better inventory management.
 
Sugar contributed to Rs 31.7 crore of the revenue and the balance Rs 5.48 crore was from the co-generation power plant.
