Aban Offshore, Century Textiles & Jindal Stainless Q1 results

Aban Offshore has posted a 163 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 2,128.04 crore as compared with Rs 806.76 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007. Total income surged by 9.63 per cent to Rs 37.66 crore as against Rs 34.35 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007.

 

Aban Offshore is India's largest offshore drilling contractor in the private sector offering drilling and oil field services for offshore exploration and production of hydrocarbons to the oil industry in India and abroad.

Century Textiles Q1 net drops 40%

B K Birla group-controlled Century Textiles & Industries announced a net profit of Rs 62.5 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, a 39.97 per cent decline over the corresponding period last year.

The company had a net profit of Rs 104.11 crore in the same period in FY08, the diversified firm said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Total income rose to Rs 967.92 crore during the quarter from Rs 857.66 crore in the year-ago period. The firm's businesses include textiles, viscose filament yarns, cement, pulp and paper. Shares of Century Textiles closed at Rs 474, up 0.07 per cent on the BSE.

Jindal Stainless Q1 net dips 66%

Jindal Stainless on Tuesday posted a net profit of Rs 28 crore for the first quarter ended June 2008, a fall of 66 per cent compared to the corresponding period a year ago. The firm had a net profit of Rs 83 crore in the year-ago period.
