Any mobile subscriber with GPRS connectivity can log in to the mobile WAP site (m.asklaila.com) and can search the services and business establishments he is looking for by typing the key word in the search option.

Alternatively, a mobile user looking for a specific service, can also send an SMS to a short code (58989) to get the results.

Presently, the service is available to Vodafone and Reliance subscribers. Bal Krishna Birla, CTO, asklaila said the company would soon launch the service for other telecom service providers as well.

According to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai), the number of Indian subscribers using their mobiles to log on to the internet had increased from 16 million in 2006 to 38 million in 2007. Analysts say that the use of Internet on mobile phones in India is growing in a fast pace.

Bala said the company had developed a "forgiving search technology" for the mobile users, which will enable one to get an exact answer for any query which has typographic or syntax error. The service is available in all the four cities including Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai where the company has launched its local search on Internet.
