Aurobindo drug gets nod

Aurobindo Pharma has announced that the company has received product approval (notice of compliance) from Health Canada for Citalopram Hydrobromide tablets 20 mg and 40 mg.

Citalopram Hydrobromide tablets 20 mg and 40 mg is the first formulation approval for the company in Canada. Aurobindo is already selling Citalopram Hydrobromide tablets in the US market. The company has established a subsidiary in Canada to serve the local market and has also filed many dossiers.

Citalopram Hydrobromide tablets are indicated for use in the treatment of depressive disorders and are a generic equivalent of Forest Laboratories' Celexa.
