Bajaj Auto Q1 net up 27% at Rs 266 crore

Bajaj Auto has reported a net profit of Rs 266 crore in the company's first quarter ended June 30, 2005, a growth of 27.27 per cent compared with Rs 209 crore in the previous corresponding period.

Net sales for the period was at Rs 2,297.2 crore, up 33.02 per cent compared with Rs 1,726.9 crore in the previous corresponding quarter.

A 130 per cent growth in the sales of motor cycles and a 95 per cent growth in the overall vehicle sales helped the company attain the growth.

Bajaj Auto has reported a motor cycle sales of 70,771 in the quarter compared with 30,718. The company has reported overall sales (including two wheeler and three wheler) of 98,263 for the period compared with last year's 50,493.

The company has posted a profit before tax of Rs 396 crore, a growth of 30.26 per cent compared with Rs 304 crore reported in the previous corresponding quarter.

The motor cycles exports for Bajaj grew by 130 per cent to 70,771 units compared with 30,718 during the previous corresponding quarter. Total vehicle exports for the company grew by 95 per cent to 98,263.
