Bangalore-based Navratna defence PSU, Bharat Electronics (BEL), has bagged the Raksha Mantri’s Award for Excellence in the ‘Institutional’ category for 2006-07 and the Indian Institute of Material Management’s Corporate Excellence Award for 2008.
BEL Chairman and Managing Director, V V R Sastry, today received the Raksha Mantri’s Award from the Defence Minister A K Antony at a function held in New Delhi.
The award is in recognition of BEL’s overall excellence including financial performance, R&D, quality initiatives, strategic planning, business development, customer satisfaction and human resource development initiatives.
The Indian Institute of Materials Management’s Corporate Excellence Award for 2008 was received by H S Bhadoria, Director (Bangalore Complex), at the National Conference on Materials Management held in Bangalore today.
The award is in recognition of BEL’s business excellence, contributions towards CSR and development of state-of-the-art equipment for defence and other organisations.
