Bloomberg and CNBC-TV18 have claimed top spots among business channels, based on different data.
According to data collated by Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC), Bloomberg TV is now the top business channel with 43 per cent market share - 10 per cent higher than its closest competitor CNBC-TV18.
In a statement, Bloomberg TV India said during the crucial market hours of 8am to 4pm, its market share at 42 per cent is double of CNBC's 21 per cent. Time-spent was the main driver for Bloomberg, with the audience accessing market news on it during prime time. In week 22 of 2015, Bloomberg TV had 67 per cent of the market share of English business news space in six cities and Gujarat, which contribute the maximum viewership.
CNBC-TV18, however, has also claimed the number one position with TAM data for the same week, with 59 per cent market share.
Non-business news channels rankings too changed, according to BARC. India Today had crossed Times Now in reach two weeks ago. This week, it went ahead in ratings as well.
