Blue Dart opens new centre in Bangalore

| Blue Dart Express Limited, an integrated air express courier and package distribution company, has opened a new service centre in Bangalore on Bannerghata Road. |
| According to Gopinath Menon, senior vice-president (south region), Blue Dart Express, the southern region is critical to the compny's growth as it accounts for 35 per cent of its total revenue. Keeping this in mind, the company would be setting up 15 new facilities in the region. |
| Bannerghata Road was emerging as a hub for logistics movement. The new facility, spread over 9,000 square feet, and located between Apollo hospital and Wockhardt hospital, would have 40 people to service MNCs clients like Oracle, Accenture, IBM, Honeywell, HSBC BPO among others, he added. |
| The city is an important aviation hub for Blue Dart and is connected by air to metros like Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Kolkata. Between January and October, 2006, the company handled about 16 million shipments and a total of 40.54 million tonnes from South India. |
| "We have, over the last few months, invested significantly in enhancing our infrastructure network in Bangalore by building new facilities, equipping them with the latest technology solutions, increasing capacities and ensuring greater flexibility to meet various needs of our customers. We are ready to meet the challenges of increased trade and business activity in South India," said Menon. |
