BSP rolls out 7 mm wire rods in electrode quality grade

Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) has rolled out 7 mm Wire Rods in Electrode Quality grade for the first time from its Wire Rod Mill.

The new profile has been rolled out to facilitate wire drawing units to draw thinner wire rods with less power consumption and in lesser time. “Wire drawing units are important customers of wire rods and by rolling out this new profile, the Plant had fulfilled a customer demand,” a company spokesperson said.

The new profile has been rolled out from A Strand of the Mill. Wire rods of sections 5.5 - 12 mm dia. are being rolled from the modernised B, C and D Strands whereas the Mill’s A Strand is designed to roll out wire rods of sections 8mm & 10mm plain and 8 mm TMT wire rods.
