CII Trichy to host CEO summit in June

In order to tap the business potential of Trichy and explore industrial prospects of the town, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Trichy zone, is planning to organise a series of events during 2006-07.

The Trichy zone would host CEO summit (conference of chief executive officers) on June 10 - 11, 2006. The event would be organised to showcase the development prospects of Trichy to corporates and industry. It would bring together top CEOs of the country to prepare a road-map for the development of the region.

Addressing media persons here, B V Ramanan, chairman of the zone, said the theme for 2006-2007 would be 'Resurgent Trichy-Inspire, Innovate and Compete'. It would organise events in order to encourage the industrial potential in the district.

"CII Trichy is keen to tap the abundant human resource potential available in the region and would organise a job fair from August 3 - 5, 2006. The event will bridge the gap between the academics and the corporates. About 70 corporates and over 5000 job aspirants are expected to participate in the fair. The beneficiaries would include final year students of the colleges in six to seven districts around Trichy," he added.

CII, Trichy zone would also organise an event from January 3 - 9, 2007, which would showcase Trichy as a growing centre for hospitality and tourism. Slated just before the annual fete of Pongal, the event is expected to attract domestic and international tourists.

The sixth edition of CII's 'Agri Conclave', to be held from February 22 - 24, 2007, would focus on agricultural entrepreneurship. It is also planning to organise a number of training programmes, industrial visits and public lectures of well known personalities in the fields of information technology, bio-tech, heavy engineering. CII is also mulling to set up a separate zone at Karur, a neighbouring district of Trichy.
