Forum Group starts building Rs 500 crore mall in city

Kolkata-based real estate developer Forum group has commenced construction of Rs 500 crore shopping mall and office space complex at Rasulgarh square in Bhubaneswar. Titled as 'Esplanade by Forum', the project will consist of a 4 lakh square feet shopping mall including an eight-screen multiplex and 2.5 lakh square feet luxury office spaces. Additionally, the project will have parking facility for over 1000 cars. Speaking about the project, Vidyut Saraf, deputy managing director of Forum Group said "the entire 500-crore project will be executed by Leighton Group from Australia, one of the world's biggest contractors. The facade of the project is inspired by Odisha's famous weave pattern and will use materials never before used in India." Forum Group has been investing in Odisha for over 35 years now. One of its group companies UAL is amongst the state's largest fibre cement sheet producers. Another company SAPL is in the process of setting up a Rs 2000 crore Titanium venture near Chhatrapur in Ganjam district.
