Happenings tourism initiative for east

Kolkata-based "Happenings" is planning to organise a tourism initiative for Kolkata and also for the entire West Bengal and the eastern region.

Mahotsav will be the company's maiden project during the Durga pujas. It will include programmes like ferrying across devotees to Belur for offering pujas during the durga pujas, organising rituals like the "sindur khela" and navaratri as celebrated in Tamil Nadu and Gujarat.

The programme would also also touch upon the history of Kolkata with a tour to Victoria Memorial and a heritage tram ride through the alleys of north Kolkata.

The many faces of Kolkata would be presented through a visit to the Motherhouse of Missionaries of Charity and the Vedic Village.

A three-day cultural extravaganza will also be a part of the entire package.
