State-run Hindustan Copper (HCL) today contributed Rs two crore for rescue and relief operations in the flood-ravaged Uttarakhand.
"HCL, has contributed an amount of Rs. 2.0 crore to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund, towards relief, recovery and rehabilitation of the people affected from recent calamity in Uttarakhand," an official statement said.
In addition, the employees of public sector company too have voluntarily contributed one day's basic pay amounting to Rs. 33.50 lakh to the Fund for the purpose.

Mines Minister Dinsha Patel received two cheques in this regard from HCL CMD, K D Diwan, in the presence of Mines Secretary R H Khawaja and other senior officials of the Ministry today for forwarding these to Prime Minister's Relief Fund.
Patel appreciated the concerns displayed by HCL and its employees for a worthy cause, the statement said.
