Ashok Vemuri has quit as the chief executive of IGATE. Vemuri had played a key role in the sale of the IT services company to Capgemini for $4 billion in April this year.
“Ashok Vemuri, CEO of IGATE, having successfully contributed to the transition process, leaves in a mutual agreement to pursue other interests outside of Capgemini,” the company said in a release posted on its website.
Vemuri joined IGATE in September 2013, after 14 years at Infosys, where he was board member and head of Americas and the manufacturing and engineering verticals. During his first 18 months at IGATE, Vemuri helped the company’s market capitalisation increase nearly three times.
Following the acquisition, Vemuri was inducted into the Capgemini group management board.
“Paul Hermelin, chairman and CEO of Capgemini, would like to thank Ashok Vemuri for his active participation to the acquisition process and his remarkable energy in the transition phase,” the company said. It added the integration of IGATE was progressing well. Along with the third quarter results, the group will provide an update on the progress, as well as the highlights of the future organisation, which would be effective January 1, 2016, it added.
