Indal Plans Alupuram Power Unit
Indian Aluminium Company (Indal), the AV Birla group firm, is weighing the option of setting up a captive power plant to revive its 14,000 tonne aluminium smelter in Alupuram, Kerala.
The unit has been hit by increasing power tariffs in the state and infrequent power supply, which has also led to the operations becoming unviable.
