Indian Airlines Revised Fares Trump Jet

BUSINESS STANDARD

The fares of Indian Airlines (IA) on selected routes, after the announcement of reduction, have turned out to be lower than those of its arch rival, Jet Airways.

The steepest difference has been on the Mumbai-Kolkata sector, with IA charges being lower by Rs 2,110 and Rs 1,165 for business and economy classes, respectively, compared to that of Jet's.

The Indian Airlines fares of Mumbai-Chennai and Mumbai-Bangalore sectors are also lower than Jet Airways. Jet Airways charges Rs 1,560 and Rs 810 more for business class and economy class, respectively, on the Mumbai-Chennai sector.

The Indian Airlines fares are lower by Rs 1,205 and Rs 660 for the business and economy classes on the Mumbai-Bangalore sector.

 

The new Delhi-Mumbai return fares for IA are Rs 14,800 (business class) and Rs 10,000 (economy class). The Jet Airways Mumbai-Delhi one-way fares are Rs 8,710 (business class) and Rs 5,690 (economy class).
