As per the terms of contract, IPL has to complete the works by March 2008. The works pertain to construction of five building blocks.

"The DuPont contract proves Indu's commitment towards adherence to the best of safety and quality standards," IPL's managing director and chief executive officer, I Syam Prasad Reddy, stated in a press release on Monday.

DuPont Knowledge Centre is being set up on 15 acres of land and is expected to accommodate more than 300 scientists and other employees. It is scheduled to be built and operational in less than 15 months.

This will also house the company's first Plant Biotech Research Centre outside the US. Globally, DuPont has more than 75 research and development facilities with over 40 in the US and the remaining in 11 other nations.
