Bangalore based IT company, Infosys today bagged an order from German car-maker BMW group. The five year order will cover services like maintenance and operations of web infrastructure, company’s internal IT system, content management and business intelligence systems. The financial terms of the order were not revealed.
The company will open a new delivery center in Munich to support this order. The center will form an integral part of a global service delivery team from Infosys.
“Infrastructure management is no longer just about short term efficiency and productivity gains. It also requires a partner that can help build an IT organisation that is future relevant. Our new delivery center in Munich will help us achieve this objective for BMW and allow us to expand our local presence in a key growth market,” said Ashok Vemuri, global head of manufacturing and engineering services of Infosys.
