Javed Habib to target Punjab

Jawed Habib Hair and Beauty is all set to become a public limited company and will soon be launching equity shares for the public in the last quarter of this year. This was stated by hair stylist Jawed Habib at the launch of its state of art salon `Jawed Habib Hair and Beauty' in Hotel Majestic Park Plaza, Ludhiana.
Speaking to Business Standard, Jawed Habib said he was targeting the Punjab market. Habib said that there are already seven Habib salons in Punjab.
"I am targeting ten more shops within two years time. Since 1989, when I started my career, I have walked a long journey and presently, we have 55 salons in 20 cities of India apart from in London, New York, Dhaka, Nepal and soon in some countries of Europe as well. I also plan to open a total of 2,000 salons across the globe within next five years.'
Habib said that in modern times, leave aside the Gen X; globally folks of all ages are conscious and concerned about their looks and dressing to boost their confidence and self esteem.
"Gone are the days when one would not care about these things . You can find a kaleidoscope of expressions on a woman's face when she scans and scrutinizes her image with intensity and concentration. Nothing can change your personality morethan your hair with techniques like coloring, highlighting, straightening etc by which a person can undergo a complete makeover,'' he said.
Jawed Habib, the eldest son of Habib Ahmed, a familiar name in the international world of hairstyling, is now spearheading the family business. A true style guru, he is well known for his pioneering work in hair color.
He also finds a place in the Limca Book of Records for 410 haircuts in 24 hours, a fete accomplished in the year 1997. The Habib family has seventy years old history when Nazir Ahmed, from a tiny hamlet of Uttar Pradesh, having big dreams in his eyes, came to New Delhi to explore avenues was appointed hair dresser of Lord Linlithgo in Viceroy's House, now known as Rashtrapati Bhawan. He later had privilege of doing hair of Lord Mountbatten and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. His worthy son Habib Ahmed further took forward the legacy left by Nazir Ahmed. He along with his sons established Habibs Hair and Beauty Studio.
Further adding Jawed Habib says that Hairdressing is a science and Habib's is a culture. ``Hair stylist is like a doctor and one should always consult him before getting a hair cut done.''
Habib's will soon be launching their second salon in Kitchlu Nagar area of Ludhiana in a three months time.
