Kajaria Ceramics FY10 profit jumps four-fold

Tile manufacturer Kajaria Ceramics today said its profit after tax jumped to Rs 12.77 crore in the fourth quarter, from just Rs 57 lakh in the corresponding period previous fiscal.

The company's net profit during the fiscal grew fourfold, from Rs 8.90 crore to Rs 35.85 crore in FY10, Karajia said in a statement.

"The board has recommended a dividend of 50 per cent i.E. Re 1 per equity share for the year.

During the year, the company produced 19.82 msm ceramic glazed floor and wall tiles as against 16.04 msm in corresponding period, which is 94 per cent of the installed capacity, Kajaria said.

 

The company, it added, has commissioned 2.4 msm capacity for production of vitrified tiles at an approximate cost of around Rs 37 crore at its Uttar Pradesh plant, and is putting up a brown-field plant at Gailpur in Rajasthan to manufacture polished vitrified tiles at a cost of Rs 125 crore.
