| Micromatic Grinding Technologies (MGT) Ltd, part of the Bangalore-based Rs 500 crore Ace Micromatic Group, is rapidly expanding its manufacturing facilities in the country. |
| The company, which manufactures various types of high-performance grinding machines, has just completed its first phase of expansion at Ghaziabad involving an investment of Rs 25 crore. |
| The company recently entered into a collaboration with Japan's $9 billion JTEKT Corp (formerly Toyoda Machine Works) to manufacture high-end cam shaft grinders. |
| This is used to produce cam profiles of small engine components like 2-wheeler camshafts. It is now in the process of setting up its third manufacturing facility in Bangalore. It intends to invest another Rs 20 crore to expand its installed capacity. |
| Said N K Dhand, Chairman, MGT, "We have just commissioned a new plant at Ghaziabad to manufacture one of the most advanced grinding machines jointly developed in technical collaboration with JTEKT Corp of Japan. This is India's first fully-airconditioned plant. We will focus on Bangalore for producing other high-end grinding machines which will have super finishing qualities. Our third plant at Bangalore will enable us to also focus on the export markets." |
| MGT's new plant will be located on a 10-acre land in Bangalore. The company is presently in the final stages of acquiring land from the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board. The plant will be ready in two years. |
| Micromatic Grinding is likely to end the present fiscal with a turnover of Rs 55 crore and has set a target of achieving Rs 75-80 crore turnover in 2007-08 and Rs 100 crore by end of March 2009. |
| Under the new collaboration with JTEKT Corp entered into recently, the company has manufactured the second machine at its last plant in Ghaziabad. |
| The machine, displayed at the recently-concluded Indian Machine Tool Exhibition (IMTEX 2007) in Bangalore, will be supplied to Hero Honda Motors Limited early next month. |
| While, MGT will sell these high-end grinders in India, JTEKT Corp. will export them to various countries under the joint brand name "" Toyoda-Micromatic. JTEKT Corp was formed by the merger of Toyoda Machine Works and Koyo in 2005. |

| The Ghaziabad plant has a capacity to manufacture 10 high-speed camshaft grinders in a year. Of this 70 per cent will be exported to Asian countries. The camshaft grinder ensures high precision and enhanced productivity. |
