Reliance Industries head Mukesh Ambani met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and several senior government functionaries to argue against the demands by Amar Singh, general secretary of the Samajwadi Party (SP), the newest ally of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA), for a windfall tax on private refineries.
