NTPC signs JV with ADB, Kyuden for 500 Mw of renewable energy

State-run has set up a joint venture with the Asian Development Bank and Japan’s Corporation to develop projects with a capacity of 500 Mw over the next three years.

NTPC has set a target for developing at least 1,000 Mw of capacity, based on solar, wind, geo-thermal and small hydro sources. The company’s board has already approved a proposal to establish 301 Mw of capacity.

Currently, NTPC has an installed capacity of 32,694 Mw, operating 28 power stations.
