Ola completes two years in Chennai, registers 40% m-o-m growth

Ola completes 2 years in Chennai, claims growing at 40 % month on month

Ola today announced it has completed two years in Chennai, which has become second largest market for the taxi aggregator after Bangalore.

The app-based taxi hailing company claims it witnessed around 40% growth month-on-month.

Ola is currently present in 102 cities in India and has over 250,000 vehicles registered on the platform.

Chennai accounts for second largest share in Ola's 1 million daily booking requests.

Ola recently served its 25 millionth customer and has had served over 150 million bookings till date.

Ravi Teja, Business Head of Tamil Nadu, Ola said, "in the coming year, we will continue to innovate on newer categories and bring in more options for users, also helping address critical issues at large like congestion, traffic and pollution amongst others for sustainable growth. In the next six months we plan to increase the number of vehicles on the platform to 40,000."
