In a significant development, OnMobile, the Bangalore-based mobile value-added services provides on Wednesday said that Chandramouli Janakiraman, the CEO & MD has resigned from the company.

It was just little over a year ago Janakiraman, also a co-founder, was elevated to the helm after the then CEO & MD Arvind Rao quit unceremoniously following controversies surrounding his role in compromising corporate governance policies with the company.

The company did not disclose the reason behind Janakiraman's resignation. "When Mouli Raman (his short name) took over as CEO of the company, the key challenges were to provide stability, continuity and focus to the company he co-founded... Mouli has decided to resign after achieving what he set out to do," OnMobile said in an announcement to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Janakiraman could not be reached despite repeated attempts. However, sources in the know say he may have quit since he was not enjoying administrative roles coming from a hardcore technology background.

Before being elevated to the top roles, Janakiraman was looking after the R&D initiative in the company as the CTO.

The company has said it would announce the name of the new CEO in due course. Until then, Janakiraman would continue as the CEO to facilitate a smooth transition.
