Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp (SMC) Chairman Osamu Suzuki, who is arriving here tomorrow, will meet Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, besides taking stock of the situation at Maruti Suzuki's violence-hit Manesar plant during a week-long visit to India.

According to highly placed sources in the company, Suzuki will also meet Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi during his trip, apart from attending the Annual General Meeting of SMC's subsidiary, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), on August 28.

"He (Suzuki) will have an internal meeting with employees and management of MSI at Gurgaon in the morning on August 23 and will also meet those who were injured during the Manesar plant violence in the afternoon," a source said.

Suzuki is slated to meet Modi on August 24 and the next day will visit the 700-acre site near Mehsana, where MSI is setting up a new plant with an investment of Rs 4,000 crore, to be completed by 2015-16.

"It is expected that Suzuki will discuss the violence at Manesar plant during his meeting with the Haryana chief minister on August 26," the source said.

It is understood that Suzuki will also meet vendors of MSI on August 27. Suzuki is scheduled to leave India after attending MSI's AGM on August 28.

MSI today resumed partial operations at its Manesar plant after a month-long lockout. The plant was closed following violence on July 18 in which a senior company executive was killed and 100 others were injured.
