President of Intel Corp meets PM, offers support for Digital India

In the past several technology honchos have met the Prime Minister offering support for various technology related government initiatives

Renee James, President of Intel Corporation became the latest high-profile executive from the global technology industry to pay a visit to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. James, met Modi on Wednesday along with the Intel South Asia managing director Debjani Ghosh and Intel India's President, Kumud Srinivasan.

A company official said that no new announcement was made and the company just reiterated its support to the Digital India initiative. James is also a member of the Vodafone board and is said to have spent a majority of her time during her short India visit dealing with matters related to Vodafone.

 

James was also slated to meet union communications and IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, but the meeting was later cancelled.

In the past several technology honchos including Microsoft chief Satya Nadella and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg have met the Prime Minister offering support for various technology related government initiatives.
